The Big Ten suffered. What Wisconsin lost? To who Oregon St? Illinois lost to Todd Graham's Arizona State. Penn State lost to Virginia. Nebraska lost to UCLA. Michigan squeaked by the juggernaut Air Force. Iowa lost again to Iowa St. Well the saving grace was Minnesota & Indiana finally won. They beat New Hampshire & UMass
The Big 12 also suffered Oklahona St lost to Rich Rod's Arizona. UA was 4 & 8 last year Oklahoma St was 12 & 1.
Let's not forget our friends in the ACC. You know the power conference that is so much better then the Big East. NCST squeaked by UCONN which was a powerful 5 & 7 in the Big East last year. Former BE member Miami of Florida got drilled by football power house Kansas St. Duke only lost by a lot.
The Pac 12 saw Utah losing to Utah St, Colorado got beat by who? Sacramento St.
We can't forget our league BE. Pitt lost big to UC, Syracuse lost to # 2 USC, Temple lost to a crappy Maryland team.

The Big 10 has been the most overrated conference on the planet since I started watching college sports in the 1970's. How many years have we seen their champion go to the Rose Bowl and get humbled? How many NCAA BB tourneys have we seen where they had six or seven teams selected and only one get to the second round?

But the media still loves them ...

Apparently, Savannah State isn't a good team to warm up against. Oklahoma State learned that the hard way. Florida State better take note...

Could their large markets be a factor? Could that bode well for the new Big East.

Great week for the PAC, despite Colorado dropping one to a FCS team and Utah losing to Utah State.

USC certainly does look beatable though. No way they go undefeated.

I love it! I don’t think the perception of college football took a hit at all. I think the crap being perpetuated by ESPN about the “big 5 power conferences” is the only thing that took a hit.

Ironically enough, all the ESPN propaganda that the gap is widening between their self-proclaimed "Big 5" and the rest of college football has been proven to be premature in the first two weeks. Even in the opening week, many FCS schools played the likes of Maryland, Wisconsin, Wake Forest, and Indiana within a touchdown. San Jose State lost to Stanford by a field goal. Youngstown State beat Pitt. Contrary to what ESPN projects, college football is getting more and more competitive.

I'd say it has more to do with their fanbase sizes... as in, according to graphics they showed during the OSU game yesterday, the top 3 fanbases in college athletics were:

1. Ohio State
2. Michigan
3. Penn State

SEC didn't have any schools until the bottom half of the top 10. Texas was number 5. I forget who number 4 was at this moment...

Colorado has been completely absymal since joining the Pac. I still shake my head over that one. Maybe USC wanted another bottom feeder in conference to beat up on or something.

Well we proved that it's no big deal that Army decided not to join the nBE.

There is such a foolish sense of elitism in college football. The "Big 5" thinks they're better than all. The BEast thinks they're better than non-BCS. Non-BCS thinks they're too good for FCS even though that's where many of them came from.
