I still like John Gruden (has money doesn't need more, and a workaholic), Mark Mangino (just feed him Chico's and H&H meals non-stop), or Jim Tressel (just keep tattoo parlors off-limits. Or Dyer street altogether).

Long-shots, but what the hell.

No to a second chance coach. You can't expect to do the same we did with price and expect a different result. Successful second chance coaches are few and far between and unaffordable. Get the up and comer.

Bob Stull had been successful hiring up and coming coaches for basketball in the past. I was disappointed that he hired Tim Floyd.

As others have said, second chance coaches are expensive and rarely produce results.

Let's hope Bob Stull learns from his mistake and hires an up and coming coach for football.

We're talking football here fitcrud, don't get confused. And on a side note, TF is not a second chance coach.

I was commenting on the coach hiring trend of Bob Stull in general. He picked up Price as a second chance coach. It's debatable now whether or not it was a successful.

In basketball, he has found success with up and coming coaches. Not sure why he bucked that trend and hired Tim Floyd.

TF is absolutely a second chance coach. He has been fired from his last two or three gigs. The last was amid allegations of wrong doing.

Price is a success. It just seems that he has hit his ceiling. We can ***** and moan all we want about morale victories blah blah blah. We played with OU and Ole Miss well into the 4th quarter. A bad Ole Miss team is still an SEC team. Just a few short years ago, we would have been playing Ole Miss' water boy, band director, and glee club as their football players would have been cooling down on the bench. Price has been a success. It is simply time to go with someone else to raise the bar.

Well I for one, don't feel we could have found a better coach than Floyd. So I couldn't be happier.....

As for football, I am paying for all of my mistakes from my younger years... ANd then some. 03-banghead

if we are in the market for a new FB coach at the end of the season do we consider someone currently on staff? Our DC seems to have improved things on that side of the ball quite a bit in his tenure, he has some NFL coaching experience and the continuity is worth something.

Failing that then I like Mangino but I'm not sure why he was canned at Kansas.

Also, for an up and comer, how about the head guy at SHSU... Willie Fritz? You know, Liebs team. He's been a winner wherever he's coached.

We need to get a young, offensive coordinator from a major college.
