what was saban's record the year he lost to big lot's? (ulm)
that was when he first got to bammer iirc. he's coming off a nat'l championship and just thrashed the winningest football program OF ALL TIME.
don't be goofy. do you think saban didn't take every single play seriously back then??? of course he did. he just has hella more talent now.
he's sandbagging worse than the biggest sandbagger on this board.

It was 2007 they lost to ULM which was Saban's first year in Tuscaloosa they finished 7-6. I don't see where he lost to UAB must have been at another school not Alabama.

No turnovers would be good start. Prove that they can still run the football this year. Even if it's against the backups it would be a big confidence booster for future games...and let's be honest, most, if not all, of those backups would be starting in our conference this year.
When the game gets out of reach, how do they respond? This is where my team failed miserably last year. I think a lot can be said about a team in these situations. State did a good job of continuing to play hard at Oregon, and WKU needs to do the same this week.
The last is hard or impossible to plan for, but stay healthy. It stinks to lose key players to injury in these type of games. Good luck to the Toppers in out of conference play this week.
I agree with alot in here, but really the first two won't be easy. To have no turnovers will be quite difficult especially against one of the best defenses in the country, maybe worded differently like no stupid mistakes that cause a turnover would be better. Next the running game one is the biggest laughable one of all, Alabama just played Michigan which had one of the best running quarterbacks around and completely shut him down. If WKU wants to establish a run game, this probably isn't the game to try it. The rest I will agree with though if WKU comes out and keeps some wind under their sails they could make it interesting for a little while. Good luck to you guys and stay healthy, Go SBC
two things need to come out of this game:
1. nobody lost for the year. someone will get injured. it happened against austin peay. it's football. every team has someone banged up every game. just hoping nothing serious.
2. the check doesn't bounce.
anyone comparing this game to big lot's win over bammer is an idiot. this bammer team is infinitely better.
no comparison to ga southern's gimmicky offense. western runs a traditional offense that bammer will toy with. not dogging southern. they just run an offense people may only see once per year.
Nothing gimmicky about running it right up the gut all day long and your blockers outrunning their secondary.

I'd like to see Western give them a scare. I think they could keep it close for a while. Good luck today and stay healthy.

wasn't slamming you guys and thanks for the health well wishes.
we used to run that offense when harbaugh was here. everyone else in the country was running pro sets and when ran well you can make people look bad
