Honestly I try to let them stand for a while but eventually they just go down in flames real bad. I'd rather be overzealous in booting them to smack then letting them burn out of control.

I have almost 0 tolerance these days on Name threads. Having been thru that dumpster fire I prefer to put those out of thier misery early.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one, Z is a valued member of this board, understands what it is to toe the line, and most importantly, has never attempted to make a martyr of himself. On that note, this one is joining the others.

Also I'll thank you to not attempt to encourage actions from the mods in public, if you have an issue, you may take it up with any or all of us in private.

Just remember, the issue is not going away. As long as others try and decide what we call ourselves, it will be brought up. The constant, purposeful, disrespect towards UL and it's name shouldn't be tolerated and if you want a forum that has commenters from all schools, then the goal of a moderator should be to discourage those that try to address UL in a demeaning manor. And this should apply for others that receive the same treatment.

Very few outside of Ruston or Monroe are trying to tell you what you can and can't call yourself.

I kinda wish that other thread wasn't locked. The smack talk was funny and stuff like that makes the board interesting, especially during the week leading up to a game between the two teams.

I have 0 issue with Cajun fans wanting to call themsleves by whatever moniker they want.

What I do take umbrage at is the response that happens if someone uses "ULL". Many Cajun fans begin to try and correct them, either politely or via Trash talk, and the thread deveolves quickly. And yes sometimes it is done to "bait" you guys.

I guess my point is...

Why do Cajun fans care what other posters call you on a message board? What does it REALLY mattter here?

ULL is demeaning? Get use to it, it is acronym of your schools name.
