Our offensive execution was not good, too many missed opportunities. Defensively we dominated, but they only had one player on the field that could compete athletically with our guys and that was Hershel Sims.
We will have to play much much better.
Im surprised Troy is favored in the game.
At the same time. im sure your starters were not in the game most of the game.
Starters didn't play in the 2nd half, and we quit running the offense. With that being said, we played really sloppy on offense in the first half.
The front 7 dominated Lamar's O-line, something that I haven't seen since the 80's. But I don't expect that kind of performance against a similar team like Troy.
Having attended the last two games against the Trojans, I do give the talent edge to the Cajuns by a slight margin, but it is not large enough to overcome a home field advantage.
Offense, I give slight edge to Troy after week 1 due to a 200+ yrd rushing performance.
Defense, no question goes to the Cajuns, I am sorry but giving up 500 yards to UAB shows me nothing to think that y'all D is vastly improved.
Special Teams, Cajuns again, Brett Baer is the biggest Special Teams weapon in the Sunbelt. Not to mention that we have a tremendous return game with Surgent, Lawson and Peoples.
IMO in order for Troy to win they must be +3 in the turn over margin.
