RE: Still Think SBC > FCS?
ULLa you don't have an option of any program that has proved themselves by your definition at the 1A level do you not understand that point? I doubt it as you thought FCS programs could still go FBS indy.

I'll look down at GA St. until they prove they can win (at any level). ODU didn't have any problem.

As for location, yeah it sucks going to school in a college town, that happens to be a tourist area and within 100 miles of three large cities to draw from for a fanbase. Have you been to the Boone/Blowing Rock area? I've been all over the state of LA, I welcome a discussion of location.

Sure we do. There are current D1A independents out there, NMSU being one.

No, I haven't been to Boone before for the same reason I don't want to travel there for a sporting event, too much of a pain in this ass to get there and nothing to do. And no, I'm not interested in the tweensie railroad.

As for the NCAA rule that prevents you from moving up as an independent, you should take that up with them. Maybe the NCAA didn't want you in D1A either.

NASCAR is great tailgating and people watching at its best.

Now I've got Alabama guys talking redneck smack, it's getting deep in here.

relax, I was a huge dale E fan. Its just common for people to rag on people from NC for being "hick nascar dale earnhardt fans"

if you follow my smack talk enough youll realize I mock people for a lot of things I do.

right after I posted my "breaking news" thread about Troy fans and waffle house, I went to one and got breakfast 04-rock

You think people are traveling to middle of nowhere LA?

You don't have a clue what the mountains of NC have to offer.

There are not traveling in the middle of nowhere on I-10 to get to Lafayette. I've Boone through the area in NC, but not to Boone. Its a really scenic area, but there is no reason to go to Boone unless you are going to the campus of App. State.

You probably aren't stopping in Lafayette if you're on I-10.

I guess those 100s of thousands of tourists each year would disagree with your assessment of the Boone/Blowing Rock area.

Most of the Dolphins organization, people who like skiing, romantic getaways in the mountains and golf in the fall would disagree.

Exactly. Isn't Sugar Mountain right around the corner? I seemed to remember seeing it when my family and were up there on one of two vacations by the way.

I think it's Sugar. There's a few ski resorts, bed & breakfasts, etc... up there. OUTSTANDING golf, especially this time of year.
It would help if they had a four lane highway to get there from Tennessee, something that maybe is a direct line from Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. And yes, I know 40 exists but that's still a haul to get to Asheville and then cut to Boone.

I will be making the trek from Tenn next year to see Southern and App play.
