Troy Question
Today is college colors day @ the office today, and one of the Troy guys had on a black Troy jersey that was pretty tight. Does Troy still wear or have plans to bring back the black unis?

RE: Troy Question
unfortunately not!

We wore the black unis back in our 1AA days. We had a black out game several years ago in honor of one of our Trojans who had died and after the game they auctioned off the jerseys to give money to the family.

The team wore the old jerseys from when he played (late 90's?) and helmets, it was really cool.

We wish we still played you guys to. When I run into Troy people here in Atlanta thats the first thing we talk about. My dad played at ASU from 78-81 so I grew up going to those old ASU/Troy State games. ASU alums feel the same way but we understand you guys may not always have room for an FCS quad on the schedule.

I think rejuvenating the Bama State - Troy matchup would be quite fun.

We had the Hornets come down to Troy back in 2006. We walked all over them.

RE: Troy Question
I dont doubt we would be beat them, but play Bama St. Would generate a lot more revenue and put money back into the state instead of play Alcorn St.

RE: Troy Question
Maybe we'll get to play you guys soon. This new 9-gamecall conference mandate has really crippled scheduling

This was like the worst thing to happen to us. Our AD position has been a revolving door for about the last decade. Danley had several things working against him when he arrived at ASU and most of the older alums did not agree with his hiring in the first place, so his leash was short to start with. To make a long story short, some of his actions have drawn the eyes of the NCAA which was his main job not to considering what happened inder LC Cole. Danley has done a great job while on post including recently inking a a contract with the city of Birmingham to extend the MCC contract til 2021. But he also gets the blame for dragging his feet on the NBC deal for the Magic City Classic which made NBC leave the negotiating table after AAMU was onboard.

Thanks for the info. We will be looking for an AD after this month, though in our case, I think a change is welcome.
