Louisiana fans and Texas State fans know that McNeese is a scrappy team and will bring it if you allow them to take advantage. This game is history for MT and will bring focus to changes that need to be made.

We are familiar with McNeese. We shared a conference with them. They have an excellent program.

That doesn't change the fact that Middle Tennessee should not have lost to them. TXST fans need to understand that it's not acceptable to lose to an FCS program of any sort.....even ones who were more than worthy rivals at that lower level.

Taking nothing from McNeese....it's a mindset we have to have in order to progress.

Play SWAC, MEAC, and dogs from the other leagues unless you can schedule an in-state.

We played Central Arkansas last year. Supposedly close to a deal with Arkansas-Pine Bluff for next year.

Believe you me, we don't want to lose to any FCS teams (UTSA included 03-shhhh).

This is what concerns me about playing Sam Houston, SFA, and Lamar. Our AD has publicly stated that he wants to keep one these schools on our schedule each year. Those guys want to see us lose more than anyone else. They want to rub it in our face that we lost to an FCS team.

It stinks that we had Tennessee State as our home opener and then they pulled out. Silly, silly OVC teams.

It's good to play an in-state FCS team after you are established.

A regular FCS game is ho-hum for the fans....but an in-state FCS game generates interest and you still have that FBS advantage.

Yeah you may lose one sometime, but the benefit of generating fan interest in combination with a lesser opponent is worth it.

But I'd definitely try to hold off until I was more established FBS.

Yeah, after years of failing to win on the road our players played with great confidence after beating WKU and ULM on the road back to back. The last 6 games we were pretty darn good.
