Kirk Herbstriet (sp?) just picked FsU to win the NCG! Gotta make the ACC look legit i guess.

He has to pick someone.

FSU has a 5th year QB....starts off the season with FOUR STRAIGHT HOME GAMES (including TWO games vs Div I-AA teams), plus, they get FLORIDA and CLEMSON at home this year.

Certainly possible....as a few voters/anlaysts actually look at the schedules that have to be played...and sometimes, select teams with the easier path to get to the title game...not necessarily the team with the best overall talent in the nation.

Florida State might be improved but there's no way they'd beat an LSU or a USC this year. Hell, I don't think they'd beat Oklahoma, Texas, Wisconsin, or numerous other teams that will factor into the national championship race.

I can see them getting to the championship game. They have a really easy schedule.

I don't believe FSU is Championship ready but They have vastly improved the last year or so. Overall atop 15 team. Preseason rankings help themselves more Than on field performance yet. If They sin and ones in front lose, they position themselves for a post season chance. Good to be ranked in top 10 preseason polls.

One game playoff...anything can happen...star players can get injured before or even during that game (see Colt McCoy).

Also, while it might help a little in regards to FSU....National Title Game this year will be held in MIAMI.

Personally, I hope one or BOTH of the Div I-AA teams beat FSU this year...but its easy to see how one can make the case for FSU to potentially reach the title game this season.

NOTE: FSU will only have to leave the state of FLA 3 times this season...as FSU has NINE games in FLORIDA this year.

So you don't think Murray State and Savannah State will put up much of a fight? 03-lmfao

They might sneak into the championship game if they can go unscathed but I think they'd get smoked by a USC.

I agree, Clemson, VT, and Florida are their toughest opponents. Duke, Maryland, BC, and Miami are below average teams. I think Miami has one of the fewest amount of returning juniors and seniors in the country.

It's a ruse to prop up ESPN's baby, the ACC. That's why he also has Pitt pegged to win the BE.

USF has a legit team and they host FsU.

It's going to make me feel dirty and a little nauseous, but I might have to root for the Bulls at least once this year.

I am going with an SEC team.
Whisky could run the table this year, if the QB plays really good.
USC could make the title game also, same with Oregon.

Think all you want. Just remember that USC has a major defect: Lane Kiffin. He can lose with any talent. My guess is he loses 1-2 games. He has the team to beat everyone, but will lose a stupid game or on a stupid play call against a good team. Until he coaches to the level of talent that he has, I wouldn't give a plug nickle for him as a coach.
