We had a thread last year where we gave updates on what was happening in games against teams UT had scheduled; scores of games involving MAC teams not on UT's schedule were posted in that thread too. I thought that was a good idea (though to be fair, it looks like I might have been the one who turned that thread into one where game updates were given). It was the thread titled "2011 football schedule".

Regardless, here's the schedule for week 1 apart from UT's game. Maybe we can use this thread to post score updates (or other news about opponents that UT's not playing that week). Or not.

CMU getting back in it. 24-17 with the ball inside the 20. EMU is up 13-10 now over Ball State...pretty good game there too.

Golden Flashes lead Towson 27-7 at the half.

Ball State and Eastern were tied at 13 very late in the second quarter.

Ball St. leads Eastern 27-13 midway through the third.

Kent beats Towson 41-21.

With around 9:00 left, Ball State leads Eastern 37-19.

Akron's live stats seems to have stopped working with a little more than a minute left. Central Florida ahead 56-14.

Central Michigan beats SEMO 38-27.


Connecticut beats UMass 37-0.

UMass laid an egg. Can someone tell me again how they are supposed to make the MAC stronger?

And sadly they probably see the MAC as a short stop along the way to a BCS conference destination. Money talks, years of dedication and success walks...
