I think most folks know for whom that comment was intended.

Wouldn't it be easier to just make a b0ndsj0ns hate thread?

Yeah, they're going to 65,000 in Neverland. Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and all the lost boys will be there.

Since when is an erector set aluminum stadium the best in America? It's a nice looking stadium, but best in America, not even close. Hell, I wouldn't even say they have the best in the Sun Belt.

From the Big East board...

(08-27-2012 03:40 PM)SMUPhil Wrote:  FAU had sold 4,989 season tickets, which includes 1,636 distributed as part of sponsorship packages, as of Friday. Just 770 single-game tickets had been sold for Friday’s 8 p.m. opener at FAU Stadium.

-The Palm Beach Post, 8/24/12

Unless Howard is expecting a huge walkup crowd, it's gonna be difficult for them to sell that program with your 30,000 seat stadium only 1/4 full for your home opener.

Have you seen FAU's stadium? It's not an erector set aluminum. IIRC the entire stadium is chairback, and it's one of the best in the SBC. I've seen quite a few college stadiums - and FAU's is one of the best, due to the fact that it's one of the newest. I'd venture to say it's better than UNT's (no aluminum bleachers) but that's just my personal opinion.

I don't know if people actually would want to go to the Big East, in actuality... I think it's too early to be saying that you want to jump ship. Because who knows - the Big East could go under quickly, with the new teams. Maybe the SBC will pass them in relevance and ability, and maybe the MAC will. It all remains to be seen. Comments like these can happen after the newly re-aligned conferences start playing each other - and beating each other. Then we'll have a better idea of who's bad, who's okay, who's good, who's better, and who's best.

He's not. He resigned at the end of last year's 1-11 season. Maybe that's why he's so sure he's not going to CUSA.

He's not AD either, the AD was also released and replaced within the last few months.

I have no clue why he's speaking for FAU.

Two really weird Schnelly coaching stints.......Oklahoma is still wondering why they ever hired him. He had the team in such disarray that he "resigned" after 1 year because "conditions had changed.". However, his weirdest coaching decision was to resign from the Miami Hurricane job to coach a team that never existed.

RE: Schnellenberger says FAU will bypass CUSA and go Big East
Why do some people think the Big East will ever want three or four Florida teams? Unless he believes USF and/or UCF are going somewhere, there is no need for FAU and/or FIU, so Schnellenberger should just stop making these comments in the media. These quotes do nothing to help his former team.

Incorrect.

FAU has a TV market.

Come on, bro. The only reason ECU doesn't have a defined "market" is that it would be redundant to draw lines around the profile of Earth.

Why didn't he just say "FAU is on a collision course with the Big East, the only variable is time!"?

Is the Big East really where he sees FAU eventually landing?

"Sure it is, where else?" he said. "That's been our goal since the beginning. We're not going to go in Conference USA, I'll tell you that."

Really?

No surprise here, this is the same guy that had UofL file suit against C-USA to stop expansion in 1996 to keep ECU and Army out and kept ECU from being a founding member.
