But please argue cases NICELY. I dont want it to develop into smack.

Right now CUSA fans for the most part have UTSA and Tstate as a wash.

MANY feel that ODU is better hat USA as is right now.

And the one that TRULY is blowing my mind is that UNCC is a better football program than GSU's when THEY DONT HAVE A TEAM YET. 01-wingedeagle

not sure what there is to argue, right now I would put ODU ahead of us but I think USA has a higher cap.

How so?

I'll be honest I dont know much about ODU, but I think your head start and being FBS ready earlier gives you a clear advantage.

they have been playing football longer and have a higher avg attendance. Its not as gargantuan a gap as some in that thread believe but they are ahead of us.

ODU is no joke. That QB of theirs is legit and I think will be a senior when that start their full FBS schedule. GaState hasn't jumped out of the gate like ODU has, and UNCC is obviously a huge question mark. If they can land and good coach and recruits like ODU did, they shouldn't have many problems catching up to everyone else.

RE: TState, USA, GSU to ARMS!
I like all our additions better than the ones that CUSA added.

GSU could be really good, and USA also. I like the football potential of schools in Mobile and Atlanta, over one in Tidewater area of VA and Charlotte, NC.

TxSt seems to be a better add than UTSA from all I can tell. Looks like they have better attendance and an actual stadium.

I know it's not an add, but I like that we kept FAU, their fans and their new stadium, over FIU which doesn't really offer anything other than a pretty good team at the present time.

I'll miss NT and our games with those guys.

UTSA has much better attendance then Texas St at this point. Can't argue that. Texas St is better on the field at this point and according to recruiting rankings is recruiting better as well.

He's a true sophomore this year so he'll lead us to a NC in '12 (eat it southern) and then '13 & '14 will be transition years. So our first full FBS year will be 2015 a year after Heinicke graduates.

http://www.odusports.com/sports/m-footbl...lor00.html

Here are his stats from 2011. He came in during the 5th game of the season for our injured senior qb and lit it up.

-68% pass completion (211 of 307 completed), 25 td completions and just one interception in 8 1/2 games (it was a hail mary pass in the final seconds of our loss to Towson)

What I dont get is the "what they're doing is irrelevant, beneath us, etc." and then several pages worth of argument as to why.

We're concentrating on making ourselves better. The new programs in the Sun Belt are promising and as promising as those in CUSA. I dont buy the argument that USA isnt as valuable as ODU because CUSA rates ODU better. Sorry I don't.

I think all of our new members have as much upside as those in CUSA. Let's settle it on the field in our many home and home (ie EQUAL) games scheduled in the future.

I predict that UNCC will have absolutely NO wins this year, meaning - obviously - that GSU is the better program.

Well, let's just wait and see how GSU does this year before we go jumping to any conclusions. 05-stirthepot

In all honesty, I really want GSU to beat the poop out of Tennessee. My dislike for that program is met by no other, not even Western Kentucky or Florida State.

Also - what's up with your ticket sales for the opening game, FAU? 5,000 season tickets and 750 single game tickets? That doesn't sound promising.

I'll be honest I dont know much about ODU, but I think your head start and being FBS ready earlier gives you a clear advantage.

ODU has a strong start. Their negatives, for now are: 1) stadium is difficult or expensive to expand to FBS standards and unplanned FBS upgrade means scheduling will be a problem for 5 or 6 years, stadium capacity makes attractive FBS games very expensive, and recruiting has been for FCS. They have a nice market, nice enrollment and a nice mens and womens bb program. Strong addition.

Charlotte has a nice FCS stadium under construction and no team. No schedule. Nice market with an NFL team. Nice enrollment. Mens bb has been horrid of late. Lots of questions. In fact everything's a question.

Their moveups have plusses and minuses. Id probably rate ODU the best of their bunch.

One thing is LIKELY for both CUSA and the Sun Belt. One in each conference will be a quicker success and one will likely struggle mightily.

I'm curious to see how we compare to the other start-ups (in actual football games not message board postulating). Hopefull we'll schedule USA, Tx St in the next few years. It make sense to schedule other start ups OOC games in my mind. Good luck to everybody in the upcoming season, Ga St we'll see you in November.

Also, it appears to be a "thing" to call the SBC the Slum Belt. I guess when you've run out of potential things to use against us, that is what you're left with?

I actually LIKE them calling us that. Why? Because it makes it so much better when the Suck Belt, Sun Belch, teams knock their teams silly. Every win for us is a delicious humiliation for them!

1-11 the previous year in a town that really only supports a winner will do that. Not to mention its on a Friday and against a FCS team.

I would expect student turn out around 5,000, which would give us around 12K or so.
