Oh great all is saved! We get 2 lame duck years instead of 1. Awesome.

Cincinnati? You're crazy. It's going to be Lville or the Bulls this year.

As much as I hate to say it. 03-banghead

I don't see us winning the conference so let me start out with that statment. But...we have won it three of the last four years and each year we were picked somewhere around 4th or 5th so....we have beaten the odds a few times.

But I'm not sold on UofL or USF either...

Really, there are several teams that can win it this year...incl RU as well

This is the most optimistic I've ever been, but that's not saying much. I've lived through some pretty bad eras. I just hope we all kick ass OOC and all stay healthy.

The Big East is going to grab other bowls for the 2013 season and then debut a completely new line-up starting in 2014. It is not like the league is going to have 6 games for 13 teams. At least 2 get added as back-up slots, at minimum, in 2013.

Worst case scenario is signing back-up deals in 2013 with the Potato (MAC vs. Idaho/NMSU), Kraft (Pac-12 vs. BYU), Poinsettia (MWC vs. Army), Armed Forces (MWC vs. Navy), and Military (ACC vs. Big 12) in hopes one of those scheduled participants is ineligible. There will likely be even better openings elsewhere as well. With 35 bowl games, and the NCAA considering letting 5-7 teams go, no Big East team with a record of 6-6 or better will sit at home.

As for 2014 and beyond, the Big East's goal should be at least 9 bowl agreements, including something BCS level or close to that, Champs, Beef O'Brady, Holiday or Poinsettia, Kraft, Ticket City, Sun or Compass, Pinstripe, Belk or DC, and Liberty.
