What do you think? Did I leave out anything important?

The fact you think UL got a chance to go to the ACC kind of putting everything you wrote into some kind of haze.

Very well written article dude. I enjoyed it, even though I cant understand how you have a degree from UK and UL. You are one confused guy. 03-lmfao

The reason I mention the ACC is because Dr. Ramsey and Tom Jurich are on record as saying they thought Louisville might have a shot at the ACC. Otherwise I see your point.

UK is the only school in the state that offers the PhD in History. You can only have two degrees from UK so I chose UofL for the Masters (which I haven't finished yet). So if I have to I can go back to UK for the PhD.

FYI... they do have schools outside state of Kentucky. You should look into it.

I am. Emory is where I hope to go. If not Emory then William and Mary, North Carolina, or Virginia in that order. UK is just a fall back.

I think that was before things started to settle down and Aresco came aboard. I'm sure that Aresco wouldn't have taken the job if he feared one of the top programs (Louisville) was preparing to leave. That's why the new TV deal is important to not only satisfy Louisville, but all others in the conference who have looked into jumping ship.

And it's possible that the new Big East deal could be a better financial package than what ESPN gave to the ACC.

Good for you. A degree from those schools is worth a lot more than the one from UK.

RE: The Big East Is Rising From The Ashes Once Again.
I've been out of school since 2006 for financial reasons. I was in the middle of writing my thesis but had to suspend my studies because I lost my job (which was paying for school). A PhD in History is not going to make me a lot of money, it's something I want for myself. Hopefully I will get things done at UofL within a year or so.

SF painting something like that with that wide a brush is not wise.

Example...one could say "A degree from UNC is worth more than from UC" but that is not true...it depends on what the degree is in. UC's college of Architecture or music, or a medical degree in Pediatrics is worth a LOT more from UC than from UNC due to the incredibly high ratings of said programs. I'm sure UofL has some programs rated higher than UNC so in the same light, it would not be true to make such a broad statement.

You can IF you can land a teaching position at a respected college. My first cousin, earned BA, MA and PHD degrees in German from Birmingham Southern, Miss State and Tennessee (the latter hurt our relationship) respectively. He managed to remain at UT in a low-paying assistant position while he searched for several years for an opening (very competitive). Finally landed one at Francis Marion College in South Caroilina and eventually was tenured. Now makes big bucks and spends his summers in Europe on expense-paid "sabbaticals" and will retire with a pension. Definitely leading a good life. My standard advice to young people is to set your goals high, make a good plan and PERSEVERE.

BE will be back in the ****ters once UL and RU/UConn leave. There is absolutely nothing the BE can if and when the ACC/Big 12/Big 10 come calling. Best to hope for is that those programs stay mediocre for a long time so they are not deemed valuable by the other majors.

Good. New paint everywhere, new turf in, new ginormous video board up and working, new sound system in w/ video boards, new smaller video board for scoreboard going in. Trying to beat opening day. More stuff on way before next year.
