Top 10 Movers & Shakers in College Football (Aresco)
Wow....to go from probably last place to now being listed as the 2nd commish on that list.

Not bad....not bad at all.

These 10 people behind the scenes are the real movers and shakers of college football

Wow, great find. Our new commish is #4, behind only Slive, Emmert and Swarbrick. Of course, they still managed a back-handed compliment, by saying Aresco is more of a facilitator than a deal closer. Guess we'll see.

Another interesting one on the list is #6, Jimmy Sexton/CAA, etc. Creative Artists Agency (CAA) has a lot of sports clients, and they also own a big chunk of EMC, the investment firm that the BE hired, along with Chris Bevilacqua, to consult on and negotiate our TV deal. Alan Gold, a senior partner with EMC, will assist Bevilacqua. Together, they are the two who did the PAC 12 deal.

Talk about having big guns on our side...

Frankly the Aresco hire was the BEST news the Big East has had all year...and really in several years.

I've heard no one in the industry second guess this Big East move, and calling Aresco more of a facilitator than a deal closer, is really not a concern - The Big East hired Chris Bevilacqua before they hired Aresco - his firm worked on the Big 12 media contract, and now the Big East... he's the best in the business!

Hey, KL. Just a suggestion. This is really a big deal you found, but nobody knows it, b/c of the thread title. Say something like Aresco is #4, and it'll get a lot more looks, I think. Too generic right now.

Forde is no Cheetohs-eating basement blogger. He's been around the block.

Further evidence we're moving away from perceived irrelevance.

Surprised college football god Jim Delaney is off that list. According to Frank, when Delaney says jump, college football says how high 03-lmfao

Yeah, I thought it was pretty weird that Jeff Long made the list, and Delaney didn't.

6 months ago...Marinatto might have been in the Bottom 10....so having a commish ranked in the Top 10 is a good sign things might slowly be changing on the perception front.

I generally like Pat also, but he can really be a horse's patoot a significant amount of the time as well.
