2012 KSU Football Depth Chart - updated for home opener
Here it is: http://www.kentstatesports.com/sports/fb..._depth.pdf

Here it was I noticed:
-No Tyshon Goode, which means he will sit out the home opener and hopefully play vs Kentucky
-No Tyler Arend, so the rumors that were posted previously about him suffering more knee injuries, seem to be true. Unfortunate, as Tyler had great size/experience and was a good kid.
-No Anthony Meray @ tailback, maybe they are redshirting him, as he played as a true freshman last year
-Colin Reardon is 3rd on the depth chart, so barring injury to Keith or Fisher, he will be able to redshirt this season, which is great for his development
-No Kyle Crum on the depth chart @ TE. He and Fackler look to redshirt, which will allow them to get bigger/stronger and provide separation in eligibility from the 3 TEs on the depth chart
-No CJ Steward on the depth chart @ OLB. He tore his chest muscle in last years preseason camp, but he has good size/ability. Not sure if his academics arent in order or if he didnt recover from his chest muscle injury yet.
-No Devante Strickland @ strong safety. Maybe they are redshirting him this year, since he played some last year as a true freshman.

Lots of depth and experience. Hopefully they can play to their potential for 12 games and have the special teams be "special" this season.

I agree Flashes, more depth than previous years. Just a few observations- let Goode heal and play when he is 100%-Losing Arend really hurts the depth at guard, where is Kearney as i heard he was fighting for a starting job-Gress is the backup to Batton normally but i think he is still nursing a sore ankle-I sure hope Archer is returning kickoffs cause this kid can fly!!- I am really hopeful Spencer Keith can regain his confidence from his freshman year and show us the qb we all know he can be.

I get what you're saying about Archer returning kicks. I think they have to be real careful not to over use him though. He's the starting slot receiver, the #2 RB, and the #1 PR. As long as the return game isn't as awful as it was a few years back I have no problem with saving him for the offense.
