Bill Baker talks to the Iowa Rivals reporter
Was Baker at Toledo? This in regard to TommyLee..................

"He had a kickoff return for a touchdown and a punt return for a touchdown in that game. "

I dont blame him for forgetting those two plays, I just blame him for thinking there would be a punt in an NIU/Toledo football game.

Who would you rank higher as a broadcaster, Harrelson or Baker? Either way, it's setting the bar very low.

lol I admit they are not top notch broadcasters, I just love how invested Hawk is about the Sox, it is the funniest thing ever. I love the passion he has.

Big fan of the Hawk here too, gotta love it! Let's get him and Stoney in the booth for 5 minutes at SF! Hawk will start to ramble on about some football game he played in 45 years ago....and Stone won't say a word.

As I've been saying for years, Bill Baker is awful. His game call is absolutely brutal for football. He's perpetually ten steps behind the pace of the game and makes so many mistakes that its pointless to even keep count.

And have you ever listened to him try and keep up with the pace of a basketball game ?!? Good God it is worse than the Hindenburg disaster.

He was bad 10 years ago.

Bill Baker, although exciting in his presentation, it very difficult to follow especially how far the play went and position on the field. Thats why I try to go to all the road games

Yeah, he goofs up and makes mistakes, but every now and then he comes up with a "GOODBYE TOLEDO!" that you just love. Easy to forgive.

This is my assessment of Baker....football = average to slightly above average, basketball = below average

I feel for football he paints a good picture and keeps up the play, but in basketball sometimes I feel like he is announcing like its a tv broadcast and expects the listener to know what has happened without saying anything.

Baker has been using that phrase and similar ones for years. When we beat Miami in 2002, it was "So long Oxford!"
