UAB is a charter member of this conference. We're not going anywhere.

Settle in and get used to it. You'll be much happier.

As far as I'm concerned UAB has contributed just as much to the conference, if not more. ECU has solid fan support and had a few good football years around the turn of the century and 2008-09 but haven't registered much of a pulse in basketball while UAB was solid early on in C-USA football and has won multiple NCAA Tournament games, including a Sweet 16 (beating Kentucky to get there no less). As a matter of fact, when considering the Davis years, they have probably underachieved.

If the league is so good, why has there been months of celebration by the defectors?

Money, pure and simple. Moreover, for Memphis, it puts us back with our most traditional rival in Louisville as well as a stronger basketball league, which we need.

Mostly, it's about money....which is looking more and more like a LOT more money.

Sweet, then you are making my point, this league is a pile and will make peanuts.

I honestly don't think ECU will be in it much longer, anyway.

We going independent? Sun-Belt? Getting kicked out?

Of the programs that are leaving, only UCF has been a CONSISTENT threat to win the league. For all of the hype surrounding Houston and SMU, the results haven't matched the expectations. Even in Memphis' better seasons were didn't really challenge for the title.

CUSA will be fine.

Yeah, advancing to three title games and being favored in all of them isn't consistently being a threat, nor is being a loss away from the division title each year except the injury plagued 2010 season (which would have been a championship game season with a healthy Keenum).

Any one of those 3 would work for me with as arrogant as you make your fan base seem on here. The bottom line is you are no better than anybody currently in C-USA, because you, like all of us, were not asked to join a better conference. Rather than enjoy what we currently have, you'd rather sit here and ***** about how much better ECU is than every other team in C-USA and how you don't belong competing with such pathetic programs. You are acting like a Louisville fan a few years back, and that isn't something to be proud of.

Well you have a poor outlook on life then. We are in a competitive conference, and we are playing D-1 sports. Things could be much worse.

We are in a league that garners no respect, makes no money, and has terrible bowl tie ins that are about to get worse. Hell what exactly is going to be the reward in the future for winning this league? That crappy bowl at Legion Field? I'd cut off my own foot before I'd ever step foot back in that hell hole.

Hey, do what you do, I'm just trying to give you a little advice. It really does sound silly to be aggravated and bemoan over others (both fans of schools and the institutions/athletic programs themselves) because your favorite school couldn't get it's way.

You're acting like your retirement money or kid's college fund is dependent upon ECU being in a major conference. Don't get me wrong I understand your frustration, we all do but I think you're taking it over the top.

Take care.04-cheers

Bonds be glad I'm not a mod. You've been out of control for a while now and are directing your comments at the wrong people using the wrong medium

Sorry you don't like my comments and have fooled yourself into believing this league is going to be fine for ECU. You are entitled to your opinion. I've directed my comments to others through different mediums. I don't know if there is much point in bombarding Holland's email anymore. He knows my opinion and I know his. We don't agree and never will. He knows what I intend to do if certain things happen in the future, and that's all I can realistically control on that front.

And there are people out there without jobs, cancer, fighting wars, etc. There are bigger things in life then college athletics and you may want to take a minute to remember that. I'm glad you've given me a team to root against now that Memphis will be gone though.

Holy crap Bonds, go have a drink or something. Everyone here knows how you feel and most agree with you on one level or another, but the constant moaning is getting old.

Well geez thanks for assuming that I didn't know all that. Last I checked this is a college sports message board, and that's what we are discussing. So yes in terms of that this league is a disaster for ECU. Didn't know I was making any other statements with my posts other than I think this league sucks.
