I'm gonna take you off ignore, because I hate logging out when you post on subjects you don't know about.

Anyways, back to the subject at hand, not only did the stadium bankrupt Fresno, but it bankrupt every city and the entire state of Califas.

I didn't see (unless I missed it) where he said it would bankrupt the city. Anyway, ignorant statement. I see why they voted his azz out.

Average home price in El Paso is around 130K,
Average home price in Fresno is around 300K.

With incomes being comparable..... Of course the disposable income is going to be tight for their residents. Tighter than it is here, because more of their money has to pay the mortg (twice as much).
Unemployment hovers around 10% in El Paso, and it's at 15% there. Compound that with their population at 501K vs close to 800K here.

What does it all mean? Lower population, with high unemployment, with less money, paying bigger mortgages. 01-wingedeagle01-wingedeagle01-wingedeagle

On KVIA it was reported that they interviewed a spokesperson from Boise who was reported by Jim Paul as one of the cities interested in obtaining this sports team.

According to the spokesperson, this was the first that they had ever heard about it.

So where did Jim Paul get this information.

According to city council, we had to make a move quickly because other cities were also interesting in this baseball team.

Does anyone know which cities were interested?

From the way I understand, Foster & Hunt killed it this go round. They had everything lined up and were first in line. Two years worth of homework. If anyone thinks there were other, or weren't going to be other, cities salivating at getting a AAA franchise, well then, this thread has gone full circle...again.

RE: Occupy City Hall
I have no doubt that a Triple A ball club would eventually find a city that wants them. There's a sucker born every minute.

City council however kept saying that there was a list of cities in the mix for this team. I have yet to hear of any of those cities.

I find it interesting that on one hand, city council says that they had to act fast yet on the other hand they say that this has been in the works for two years.

So which one is it?

you are right dumb ass, no cities were interested. I think the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS should all stop existing.

Fitbud, do you realize some of the **** that comes out of your mouth?

Apples and Oranges.

No one here is saying that cities would not be interested in Major league teams of any sport.

We are talking about triple A baseball however. That is a far cry from NFL, or NBA or even MLB.

There is a reason why triple A wants more "intimate stadiums". It's code for "we aren't filling 10k stadiums anymore".

Let's face it. If you are getting 4k per game in triple A you are doing great.
