Game 1 vs Club Nestre is today, and Ted Alexander is live-tweeting what's happening. Currently it looks like it's 42-24 Monarchs. Some of the tweets I found interesting.

ODU turning good defense into steals and points. 17-7 in the first of four quarters#odusports

RE: European Trip.
That sounds like the BT scratch your head starting lineups to start a season. That's good though he's getting to see lots of configs of all the new guys early.

Sounds like some good stuff... except that wrist fracture.

at least the wrist injury is now vs. Oct or something (if you're looking for the bright side).

that is an interesting lineup...I've done little research, but how good are the teams that we're playing against supposed to be?

True true... but it doesn't say which wrist. The fact that he's playing sounds like not his shooting hand. From experience I have to wear a wrist brace to play basketball at this point in my life. Too much "carpel tunnel" and tenosinovitus or whatever the hell the doc told me I've developed. And no matter how much I practiced it has changed the way I have to shoot and its hard to undo life long form. I can't imagine it'd be easy even at his young age.

Dang. I wish I could find something on Club Nestre, I wonder how good of a team they are. Sounds like Painter and Batten had a great game.

I found their wikipedia page. Won the Italian national championships back in 1942 and 43!

Sounds like they played a Virginia Beach YMCA team. Either way... awesome experience and time to see them gel.

Yeah...looks like it's actually Club Mestre.

The men's team plays in the top Italian league. No idea if they played them or a younger squad.

Man Painter is a beast. First time I've really seen him (don't really remember him standing out while watching NCSU in the NCAA's). I could easily see him having a Frank kind of season.

RE: European Trip.
Is Ambrose Mosely not on the trip or did he not play (which I can't imagine)?

Yikes--our FT shooting was bad., less than 50%.

our FT shooting hasn't been good for 10 years. I have found its better to embrace it. then its like a reward when one of our players makes two in a row.

With 12 rebounds, I'd say he's a "Great Dane".
