Well, that's a whole lot better than just blind, wholesale Frank bashing. Not saying that even occurred. It just makes more sense to be specific.

The problem I have with him is that he sees things never change. He can't seem to envision a BE with all the new schools developed to their potential. I have said many times BE is like a start up company full of growth potential. ACC is like a developed company pretty much at its peak. BE has a lot of growing to do. BE schools could very well own their own markets in the near future and that will be very valuable to any TV partner. Frank doesn't seem to see that.

Good analysis. I agree. I attribute that to his Big Ten viewpoint that treasures tradition. The Big East has none of that, but they definitely have market potential.

Agree...SF hit on some very legit points.

Frank is a good guy, but he is NotreDame- Big 10 homer forever with a bad case of tunnel vision. He does not believe so but this is a solid core for football:

Boise
Louisville
Cincinnati
South Florida
Central Florida
Houston
BYU, if we can get them.

However, Frank may come around. He is usually better object on most other issues.

Amazing...bashing Frank and really Frank has never "badmouth" the league.

Now he has a point of view that might not be "popular" but it not personal towards to BIG EAST and he is not a BIG EAST hater.

And Clairton has a point, he might have other things going on. I know for about a year I really didn't post on the board as as...it called life.

RE: Where is Frank the Tank?
I don't think this thread's intent was to "bash" Frank.

I respect Frank's opinions in almost everything, but it is what it is. His opinion.
Just like all of us have ours. The difference is this is the Big East Board, and 90% of the posters on this forum have a pro-Big East frame of mind. So, when a percieved "outsider" comes in to the Big East board as regularly as Frank has recently when we are discussing the ESPN hate, or future media rights and tries to "put us in our place" with our views on the situations, then it doesn't sit well with some.
I don't have a problem with Frank, it is good to have another voice or objective for me to consider. I think he is flat out wrong about ESPN and his opinion that they don't "bash" the Big East, but it is his opinion.....

All that being said, this thread needs to die, decend down into the historical records, and everyone move along.

Hopefully it's nothing serious, maybe he just decided to go to the bahamas for a vacation for a while...escape the grid, no cell phones, no internet, just chilling at the beach drinking mai tais.

He's updated his own website twice since the end of June. I think a combination of other things going on in his life (work or personal), and possible burnout (I haven't been here in a while because of just that) probably has more to do with it than anything else. I mean it's August: family vacation time before football season.

Frank is one of the best and most informed people who post on this site. Even if you do not necessarily agree with everything he says, most everything he brings up, he backs with sound logic, good reasoning, and/or sourced information. Even if you don't agree with what he says, you can at least tell exactly where he is coming from and why he came to whatever conclusion he did.

I cannot imagine what more you can possibly ask for with a message board poster.
