CR/BE board
I've posted something similar in the part, but gotta post this again.

Everyone is feeling a little slighted, and even WVU fans are a little furious. Everyone is a little irritated these days. We are in the middle of a major shift in college sports and even those of us w/ the thickest skins aren't able to handle themselves. It goes w/ the territory I guess.

Over the past few months we was barraged w/ how the ACC will fail and so on and so on. Even I don't understand how the slightest negative BE thread was completely blown out of proportion. I can see a little bit of a double standard brewing and it is a little unfair.

Yes I do think some of the BE & B12 guys needs to grow a thicker skin. But at the same time I think some of us needs to understand that some of those guys don't want to hear what we have to say. Lets be the better fan base/conference fan base & just move on.

Don't worry, I still have pretty thick skin... 05-stirthepot

I'm quite surprised that a number of the nBE, CUSA and MWC posters think of me as "Satan incarnate". I admit that I can be a touch sarcastic and on occasion I can post something to get a few of them stirred up. However, I really don't think my posting has ever been that caustic or insulting ever since the CR board was moved from being a BE subforum to a general forum. A few years ago I could be quite colorful. I'm pretty tame today, but still it doesn't stop them mob from wanting my head.

What amazes me is the number of the posters over there that get away with flagrant rules violations and never get called on it. It is what it is.

I agree with everything you said esp what you bolded. I usually try to stay out of CR/BE issues mostly because they already have moderators. I usually just check things out to see if yinz all get a fair shake on certain topics.

Guys like TexanMark, OmniOrange, TerryD, ShannonPanther, and myself been talking realignment since 2005/06. For me realignment chatter has really grown tiresome and I'd rather talk football. Not going to tell anyone NOT to post there, but lets try to do a better job of respecting a different viewpoint regarding the ACC/B12/BE.

Why are the Big12 fans so thin skinned? I thought they were the most powerful conference in all of college football. Especially now that they have been graced with the Texas Longhorns of the north, also known as hoopieville....

I have never really spent much time there in the past, but I think I may park my arse over there for a little while and see what all the fuss is about?

I've pretty much stopped posting on both the CR board (July 23rd) and the BE boards (july 8th) altogether.

I wish nothing but the best for the Big East since it will always hold a special place in my heart for what it might have been. And the CR board has gotten so bad, I almost wish the Big 12 would take an ACC team so I would be banned from it for the year. 03-lmfao

Majority of my posts have been on the ACC board the past three weeks.

Cheers,
Neil

Ruh-Roh! I saw your post there. Your counter-revolutionary actions need to be purged from your mind. This is the first installment of the indoctrination program that you will undergo to ensure that all of your future posts conform with the official narrative as defined by the nBE ruling party from the BE Forum Bloc.

Ideally we'd be able to discuss the upcoming season since, you know, we're participating in it. However, a giant chunk of the people over there now represent schools that won't be participating until after we've left. They have zero incentive/interest in posting about actual on the field stuff (and I don't even really blame them). I think it will be better come basketball season since you'll lose posters from the new football only schools, plus the all-sport schools that don't really emphasize basketball. Hopefully by then their TV situation will be resolved as well. Football season is a lost cause though.

unfortunately this entire post is correct. 03-banghead

The WVU fans really believe that an ACC team will jump. The fans of the schools not named Texas, Tex Tech, OK, and OSU are thin skinned because they have been to the brink twice in 2 years. They are whistling past the graveyard hoping the Zombie of Pac 12 expansion isn't coming for them.

I saw you mixing it up with bitcruncher in the last thread I started over there. I disagree with your belief that Pitt should play in a 45K stadium. I think if/when Pitt gets back to football prominence again, the natural equilibrium would be around 55 - 60K for an on campus stadium (I know, never will happen). Pitt stadium was the right size for Pitt IMO. Another thing to consider, for many years Pitt had a high percentage of commuter students. For the past 10 years (15?), Pitt has successfully shifted to the point where the vast majority of the students now live "on campus". In time, Pitt's alumni base will be better at supporting CFB IMO.

Many of the newly minted BE fans, plus UCONN fans, rank right up there with some of the jagoff Big12 fans who love nothing better than to tear down the ACC.

I agree, that if we ever get our act together that 55/60K would work fine. I also agree, that it aint ever happening though... we will be at Heinz for quite a long time. Good point about the transitioning of Pitt from a commuter school to an acutal campus life school. I give the administration credit, they have really come a long way in transforming Okaland!

Can't believe there's a thread there trashing Frank. None of the mods there seem to care either. What a joke.

Also how long is Quo banned for? What did he ever do that was wrong? I only ever saw him disagree with popular opinion.

True, that thread was pretty tame. But those Miko33 threads were brutal... Sometimes at night, I have to bury my face in my pillow and cry softly. Do you know how hard that is to do when you have one of those water pillows? It's rough man - real rough...
