5 Florida schools made the list. What is going on in Florida? It's like they have something special that makes people not care about their studies? I'm thinking...Disneyworld.

I'm not entirely sure how useful this ranking is. Florida and Texas A&M, both excellent academic institutions, are on the list with A&M ranked rather high. Then some not-so-great academic schools are listed as well. Whats the point, exactly? Just to say whats easiest?

Yeah I dont see the point either, schools with 27 ACT Requirements are on that list. I guess its how easy people find their school, which is meaningless when different ACT requirements are involved.

Agree with Tiguar's assessment. I think they have some sort of mathematical formula where they incorporate the entry level in terms of GPA and SAT's, coupled with selectivity of freshmen applications, in relation to how "demanding" the classess are in terms of getting easy grades compared to those "entry" standards. As noted above, University of Florida is widely considered the top academic institution in the state, so it's very ambiguous what this "ranking" brings about.
Still, with similar numbers in terms of freshmen numbers with some in the state (or better than at least one), FIU is not in that list of those state universities. Actually, it's in the "more rigorous" list, whatever that means.

I guess I am just stupid but least rigorous......Cal Poly....? Smoking something with the title the schools etc.........spam, filler, whatever you want to call it but about as random as school selection with a dubious criteria.....particularly for LEAST rigorous.........makes my MOST MORONIC LIST OF THINGS..list.
Example SOOTHING list........apple pie...cats.....waterfalls.....LSU.....wind in trees....dumb*** lists by the folks that did this one.....birds chirping.....bathroom doors......car dealerships.......more dumb*** things listed by the people that did this one.......whispers......horse tails etc....
Think I can publish that garbage and get people to read it?

RE: College Rankings 2012: Least Rigorous Schools
Actually, reputation does not necessarily equate to rigor. I have two undergrad degrees and one grad degree. Of George Washington University, the University of South Alabama, and Washington University in St Louis, I would rate USA as the most rigorous school of the three. At least in business. The workload at South was greater than at Wash U.., at least in the discipline I majored in.
Don't get me wrong...GWU is a top 50 school and Wash U in St Louis is easily in the top 20. But I found that the reputation of these schools most likely resulted from the fact that students accepted into either GWU or Wash U already have strong academic qualifications. And a LOT of people at South Alabama failed out/dropped out of the major. But of the people I graduated USA with, at least in my major, could definately handle the workload and academic coursework at Wash U

Yeah, I mean, I get it. The Bio-Medical program at USA is a doozy and I was more than prepared for pharmacy school. Honestly my last year at USA was harder or at least as hard as my first year of professional school.
I just am not sure what value a "least rigorous curriculum" ranking has.

Florida is one of the better academic instiutions in the country. If they are considered "least rigorous," I hate to know what ASU is considered as...
