Thanks for posting this niuguy, I did miss it and I checked in here before going to NFL.com to look for his stats. You could not ask for a better placed ball!

I watched that whole game live just to see Chandler, He by far outplayed Drew Stanton. If im Indiana I offer Drew stanton up to the league as a good backup for a 3rd round pick

HAHAHAHA. You mean to tell me, someone in the NFL is going to give up a third round pick for a guy a rookie beat out? Lolz.

If CH plays well, it puts the Colts in a bind. You have to clear waivers to get on the Practice Squad. Anybody can pick you up before you are assigned. They will need to add him to the 53 man or risk losing him to another team.

There is little chance the Colts go with a rookie quarterback at # 2 behind Andrew Luck. It's just not going to happen.

Chandler Harnish has a great opportunity in front of him. Spend the next couple of years developing under, hopefully, a good quarterback guru.

ummmmm..... no. He wouldn't even go for a 7th rounder

And there is 0% chance the Colts go into the season without a veteran QB. All 3 will stay on the roster since I'm sure the Colts don't want to risk Harnish going somewhere else on waivers (unless he completely sucks the next 3 weeks), like what happened to Lefevour and the Bears a couple years ago.

Colts will DEFINITELY go with a veteran QB to back up the franchise Andrew Luck.

If Chandler Harnish shows enough then he will become a developmental QB for Indy...or somebody else if he gets cut. Things look promising for him in this regard.

Jerry Golsteyn threw a couple of regular season TDs for the Giants in 77.

Your intrepid message board lurker was...well...lurking the Colts message board and found this little thread on Harnish.

Also found this on the Colt's Stampede Blue blog that was discussing the play of the rookies:

Quote:Chandler Harnish:

Remember the days where it would be a miracle for a Colts backup QB to even complete a pass? In only three passes, Harnish put all of those past quarterbacks to shame. His two short completions were smart decisions, and his deep pass looked like a throw a 3rd-string rookie QB shouldn't be able to make, hitting Jeremy Ross right in stride for the easy touchdown.

It's admittedly a small sample size for Harnish, who was reduced to handing off the ball for most of the fourth quarter. I hope the coaching staff gives him a better opportunity to fling some balls around in the next game when they hopefully won't have to just burn time off the clock.

The best part is they haven't even seen him run yet.

If Chandler Harnish starts running, then he's in trouble in Indy. Unless your name is Michael Vick or RG3, there is no team in the league who wants to see their quarterback running as a major means to make plays.

Aaron Rodgers was the 2nd leading rusher in the NFL amongst QBs 2 years ago. I also think Cam Newton would disagree with you. I'm not comparing Chandler to any of those guys by any means, but mobility is never a bad thing and it's another weapon Chandler posses.
