True, but the 3.33 mil per school number is a nice round number for all 48 of the schools.

I'd be shocked if sec takes less if all things are equal.
Maybe if its b12 1 vs sec 2 or 3 or something.
Either way its alot of gauranteed money even before a game is played.

It's not that...

It'd be 40 mil for each conference The thing is, you divide by 10 or 14, and it's a huge difference(4-2.857). Given all the leverage the SEC has right now, wouldn't be a stretch at all that the SEC would have gotten it as per school average....

You guys are arguing over a BS point. It's going to be 50% to the SEC and 50% to the B12. These round numbers you guys are throwing out there are nothing more than pipe dreams. No halfway decent conference commissioner in his right mind would sign off on anything less than a 50-50 deal for his conference, especially if he's dealing from a position of strength...

Big 12 isn't the position of strength though. SEC held ALL of the cards...

Who is the conference of strength here?

Absolutely.

The SEC could have done this with the ACC. The B12, at the time, needed this badly.

Since they own this bowl, will there be some reduction for expenses?

The ACC only has the TV rights for the Orange bowl, so they would get the revenue only. Then what about the Rose bowl? The Rose bowl is getting this $80 million. The Conference Distribution would be less, correct?

Even then, I don't see FSU or Clemson going. I see more likely Louisville, BYU etc.

This is a thread about the Championship Bowl and it's payout. Please take your BS to the thread that has already been created for you to continue spreading it.

So there is no need to continue this thread. It is $80 million and there is no disputing that.

Sure there is. Now people can discuss the $80 million....regardless of your many attempts to derail this thread. Good news for the Big 12/SEC must really eat you up.

I would like to see the Big East get some good news from the new bowl/playoff arrangement.

Maybe the other Orange Bowl slot could get ND/Top 10 BE Team/At Large.

And they haven't even gotten to the champ game etc.
Hard to diminish that.

Did BE figure out the divisions yet?
Maybe a bowl would prefer BE east(orange) or BE west(fiesta) if ranked or something?

if they do get included they will be taking way less than 50 %. If the orange bowl is ~65million,the ACC should get 35-37 mil with there opponent getting 28-30mil but if its ND they will get less but still good for 1 school
