After reading this article, I don't know if MWC schools are interested in joining Cusa

edit: NEVER MIND THE LINK DOESN'T WORK, BECAUSE IT IS THE LAS VEGAS PAPER, but to paraphrase, they don't want to travel to UNCC, Norfolk, or Miami

Seeing as the ECU AD wants a more geographic conference and we added 3 east coast teams after only losing 1 in the last round of expansion, I don't think our interest are going to be taken into account much.

I wouldn't mind MWC, but I don't like the SJSU addition.

I prefer this actually, MWC gets their presence in Texas and the basketball would be awesome...but it aint happening

I foresee a breakaway conference from the best of the MWC and CUSA.

Tulsa, Rice, UNM, UNLV, AFA, Fresno St, UTEP, Colorado State, Wyoming, and, I'd even throw in Southern Miss.

I think even SDSU and Boise would wonder if it would be best to join for the benefit of ALL their sports, travel, fans, and recruiting.

I agree, we added too fast and too many. To add to it, I think the MWC f**ked up too, they should have only added USU and not SJSU. Now they are sitting at 10 schools with no championship game, while they could have done the same thing with 9 schools

WAY too quick and WAY too many teams. I'll never understand bringing ion Rice, Tulsa and SMU last time around, as only Tulsa basketball, who was in decline was even competitive among all their sports programs. At least Tulsa football has stepped up though.

And now you go to 14, which means the league schedule doesn't even work anymore? If you really wanted UTSA and Charlotte, you could have waited a decade and watched them grow from afar and then if you wanted them you could have poached them, especially if raided again. Though Old Dominion's support and level of play has been impressive in FCS so far, the same can be said of them. FIU is more of the same though I can understand wanting to have a presence in Florida.

I would hope we go after UNM and Air Force or UNLV. I would prefer UNLV, but AFA would be good too. I posted this on the CUSA boards, but I'll say the same here too.

I read on the MWC forums that they will be making around $8 million a year annually now that they lost the mtn channel. We make more than double that amount, so why not go after their teams? I wouldn't be surprised if some of their schools have already had secret talks with C-USA.

Well, I scratch my head when I hear the eastern teams talk of what they find attractive.

If they were to go back in time (say 3 years), what would their response be to folks saying "hey, pick up GA St, MTSU, Delaware, FIU, FAU, and UTSA". They'd say "GTFO of here with that!".

But standards have plunged. Kinda like going to the bar, and at the end of the night, all the hot girls are taken, and the chick with the wooden leg starts looking hot.... Well, in this case, it's best to go home alone, because picking plinters off your thighs in the morning, is not going to be fun.

I know, I know; F'd up analogy, but I'm sure you all get the point.
