The Merger may be dead, but I for one would rather see some kind of merger or CUSA raid of the MWC than see us add more 1-AA startups or Sunbelt teams...

The Merlliance will still happen. Conference officials just can't give a fraction of an inkling of a hint that it's "on hold" and not "dead" until the schools that are leaving the two conferences have officially settled up and moved on.

There was a lot of talk about a joint TV contract and combined conference offices. I guess CBS wasn't willing to pay any more. They just signed up CUSA last year for 5 years. Not clear what they have with MWC and the dissolution of the network.

While that is nice of you to say, I don't think under the new system ranking of conferences matter anymore or even relevant as it is the Power 5 Conferences and the rest of the conferences now.

True, who really cares if we are "ahead" of the MWC or not? We aren't a "contract" league, and that's the new AQ. That's the new line in the sand.
