Id rather be winning in CUSA than Slumming it up in the Belt... Most, 9 out of 10 of the Slum Belt schools don't even remotely get the speed athletes that CUSA gets on a regular basis.
And this arguement didn't start over UTSA thinking they were going to be good in CUSA off the bat. It started over Directional Alabama thinking all they were going to have to do is show up to beat UTSA. Damn you SA fans seem awful entitled, of course Im sure you have Alabama or Aubun hats in your closet.

Put down the kool-aid...for real. Go Sun Belt and all, but pass C-USA next year at the latest?
So a collection of schools, half of which have borderline FCS budgets, and the majority of the conference averages in the 15k range, is going to pass a conference that at least 75% of has a larger budget than our largest budet and 90% of averages more in attendance than our best program on any given year apart from the Cajuns in 2011.
Is our conference going to magically increase budgets and attendance 50-75% across the board in the next two years?
Give me a break man, the Sun Belt is closer to C-USA than 99% of C-USA fans will admit, but if you think that the Sun Belt passing C-USA in the next two years is a given, you're seriously high.

I don't really understand why either side is that concerned about the distance between each other. The only distance that matters is our distance between the "power" conferences, and that gap is sadly growing at an exponential rate. I root for all non-AQ schools in general as long as it doesn't hurt ECU. It is not some negative for ECU if all of the Sun-Belt schools start growing and doing better. Of course we are in a bit of a different position as we don't really overlap at all with any Sun-Belt schools. Either way I am rooting for Troy to get back to where they were, ULL and Ark State to continue what they started last year, MTSU to get back to where they were, and every other Sun-Belt school to improve themselves, increase their attendance and budgets, and just overall better themselves. I'm not going to sit here worrying about if you guys "pass" C-USA. If you do that's great for you.

Classy posting by a typical coosa fan. USM, Bama's whipping boy, that's what you are really noted for, right? Give us a flipping break, and don't attempt to make something out of a conference that goes fishing in the FCS. Please go back to the coosa conference blog.
Yawn, I'm not a C-USA fan, I'm a USM fan. My school actually has a history unlike yours so I don't have to resort to conference homerism like you.
Anyways, your own conference just added two FCS move ups plus your own start up squad genius. Try refuting my points instead of instead of hurling third grade insults. You said that C-USA lost it's "real programs", I posted facts to support my position that the conference did not. Do you have anything of susbstance to add or are you going to post more rambling nonsense?
Oh, I made my point about the insignificence of USM and their football program and I made it perfectly clear. I'll add this. USM is an "also-ran" in an "also-ran" little conference. Don't think for a minute that you can come to this forum and convince anyone that the coosa conference is relevent in the grand scheme of bigtime college football anymore. You don't have a leg to stand on. Like I said, the really good football programs have left coosa and have gone on to bigger and better things. USM, ECU, and Tulsa (whata joke) are left with teams like LaTech, UTSA and Charlotte. You have the stones to mention the SBC taking Georgia State and Texas State after coosa picking up the teams added to your pondwater league? What a laugh! GSU & TXST are bonuses as compared to coosa's additions. You do not have a comeback so do not waste our time.
You'd really be fortunate to be a joke like you claim the Tulsa program is. 6 of the last 7 years winning seasons and bowl games.
Winning seasons in the coosa? Wow. Well Tulsa is bound for the bigtime and will probably land in the BCSC game this year. And where is UNT headed MG? It's not even worth spelling out all of our accomplishments in C-USA or in the years prior dating back to 1895... Someone has a GIANT case of little man syndrome - get a clue.
I don't get the hatred towards C-USA or Tulsa.

I certainly hope that the other SBC schools that play UTSA will take care of business. At least you guys will know that you will have the Bobcats rooting for you.

Directional University? Oh please. Your two best teams are
"directional" schools. They don't seem to have a problem with it, and neither will we.
CUSA has
EAST Carolina
SOUTHERN Miss
NORTH Texas
Hyphenated Schools
UTPA
UAB
UTEP
UNCC
With regards to your comments about USA fans having Alabama or Auburn hats in the closet...guilty as charged. We didn't have a football team until 2009. So what? At least we come from a college football pedigree. Instead of primarily rooting for the NFL or college basketball.
However, CUSA has a team that has more of a problem than some fans having an Alabama or Auburn hat in the closet. You have a school that is little more than a satilite campus of the University of Alabama and has no independent board.

I don't hate Tulsa. You've actually dramatically outperformed your enrollment in athletics. I don't see a bunch of upside beyond where you're at now. You should be rightly proud of your high academic requirements, but it hurts your ability to recruit in football. Small schools have a hard time competing at a higher level than you are at currently. Also, very small private schools have small alumni bases, which hurts your ability to build fan support. You have a better program than any in the Sun Belt. Period. I just don't see Tulsa having the potential of East Carolina or Southern Miss from an athletic standpoint.
We haven't caught the CUSA yet, but for the first time, we actually can see them. And we think they are driving slower than we are.
From a total athletic program perspective, I see CUSA as having two obvious programs, ECU and USM, that are above the rest. Tulsa is next. And then.....it goes into the realm of programs no better than the Belt.
You can call it a "little man syndrome". We call it "being hungry".

Ok, ODU and Ga State. Either of you guys got an OOC schedule yet?
For 2012 yes...why?
I'm assuming he means beyond 2012.
We have a 6 year contract with Norfolk St which we'll have to buy out of eventually but I'm geussing we'll play them atleast in 2013 maybe 2014. And we have a contract to play Charlotte in 2013 aqnd 2014 which we'll obviously keep. Other than that I haven't heard anything beyond the current season.

So neither of you guys have anything FBS scheduled for 2013 OOC (Charlotte really shouldn't count as a OOC game for ODU)
My guess is that, simply for necessity's sake, you guys will be continuing to play each other.
Scheduling OOC is hard. Most teams are booked solid years in advance.

You're probably right about us coninuing the series. For 2013 it's all OOC for us, I think in 2014 we'll be playing a mainly C-USA schedule but we won't be eligible for a conference title so I don't know if wins against us for other C-USA count as conference wins or not. I think that we're technically considered independent for the transition years but I don't know.
