RE: Preseason football poll
I agree with the OU pick for #1 at this stage of the game but I am not so sure about the rest of the top 5.

Okla. St. seems to have a lot of questions to be answered with a very young team.

Texas is supposed to go from a mediocre also ran to a top contender in one season?

Defending Big East champion WVU is expected to do well against Big 12 competition. We will see if there is a big difference between the BE and the Big 12.

Defending Mtn. West Champ TCU will be stepping from one level of football to a complete other realm. Will the Frogs adjust?

Never count out ole Bill Snyder at KSU!

There isn't any difference for WVU, LL... 05-mafia

In case you were unaware, WVU has a .500 or better record against everyone in the Big XII that WVU has played. The only Big XII teams WVU has yet to play are Baylor and Iowa State, and so far the Mountaineers are unbeaten in Texas...

We shall see, my friend. To say that WVU has done well against Big 12 competition in the past in ooc and bowl games and to take on a grueling Big 12 schedule week after week may be two different things. Anyone would be foolish to think that BE football is as good as B12 football. I know I don't!

RE: Preseason football poll
How the hell did Kansas end up at the bottom of the preseason poll? Oh...football....never mind. 04-cheers

Overall I'd say that the poll looks pretty reasonable. OU and WVU appear to be clear preseason leaders, with a group of 5 behind them and 3 likely trailers. How teams will actually fit into those groups will likely depend on matchups, luck, and injuries. I would definitely heed Lizard's advice, too - they may not always have a lot of talent, but Snyder almost always has KSU ready to play.

I'll predict WVU does better taking on a grueling B12 schedule week after week than TCU...

There's a good chance WVU does better taking on a grueling B12 schedule week after week than anyone else in the B12. We'll find out more about that on Nov. 17th...

RE: Preseason football poll
Jackson, I'm kind of surprised the Big XII media didn't rank Texas ahead of WVU. The national media has been doing it in all their preseason write ups...

I love my Mounties but this isn't the Big East. I predict us with2 conference losses.
WV defense will probably be the worse in Big 12. The two guys Coach DH hired to run the defense are not impressive. In addition, we have no depth compared to the Top teams in the Big 12.

Always better to take a cautious aproach to things and then if they turn out better than expected you feel great. I have no idea how TCU will do this season but I will support them no matter what and unlike some posters, I do not feel the need to take a swipe at another school's program just to make myself feel better. May the best team win and may the Big 12 prosper!

I don't know about you guys. But I expect WVU to go undefeated every year, until I can't any longer...
