I don't have to judge by one pic, I've been to both cities several times, several. I also lived in Oxford.

"Hattiesburg, #1-rated piss stop on a coast trip from Jackson. "

When's the last time you went to Oxford? An hour to N.O.? Oxford is about that to Memphis. Gambling boats? Robinsonville is about an hour and a half away. History and a nicer campus? We have you beat hands down.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!your killing me....OXfart is a better city than Hattiesburg? goog grief dude are you on drugs...What does OXfart offer people who do not like college sports? Hattiesburg is known for it's shopping, it's restaurants, ,it's great high school sports,Camp shelby -where we train for iraq,etc...,Golf Courses(8),Southern Miss and I could go on and on...

Ole Miss is known for the grove, olemiss,a roach invested reataurant that serves catfish.

And all you can come back with is a nicer campus!

oxfart should not even be mentioned in the same breathe as Hattiesburg

OXFART= :john:

Hattiesburg isn't growing!! Oak Grove, Petal, etc..... is growing. Hattiesburg is still the roach infested place it has always been. All the whites are moving out of Hattiesburg to the surrounding towns and leaving Hattiesburg to the blacks. If you deny that, you're full of crap!!!

They can move the city limits all the way to Columbia but that doesn't change the fact that "Hattiesburg" is still mostly populated by blacks. I'm talking about east of I-55 where USM is located. I guess you could say that Jackson is mostly white too if you take in Madison, Pearl, Clinton, Byrum, etc..... but Jackson[B] itself is BLACK and RUNDOWN just like Hattiesburg.

In the Hattiesburg City limits: 64.6 Whites
34.4 Black

<a href='http://www.hattiesburgms.com/d.html' target='_blank'>Hattiesburg--not oak grove</a>

Oak Grove: 84.9 white
14.3 Black

Know what you are talking about next time before you make yourself look even more idiotic!!!!!!!

You are completly missing(are not listening) to my point. They have moved the city limits in Hattiesburg almost to Belvue and that is why it's showing the high percentage of whites. There is no way of telling but I would wager that east of I-55(where USM is located) is mostly black. If you look at Jackson's ratio on paper, it will show a higher percentage of whites. The city of Jackson itself is about 85% blacks.

They're trying to annex Byram, my hometown. The thinking of the people in Byram is, "If they can't fix their own sh*t, why in the hell do they want to mess us up as well?" The reason is obvious, they want the money to pay for all of the handouts to the Democrat constituency in Jackson.

Byram is planning on incorporating.

As for I-55 and USM, you lost me there. You mean Hwy 49?

No, I do not think you get the point.... The point of your arguement was that Hattiesburg was mostly black and I showed facts that resulted in you being wrong. Does it make a different that the city limits has moved out towards Oak Grove, NO, it's still the city of Hattiesburg. Every town or city in one way or another have annexed some parts of their town or city. You have no point, it's invalid and ignorant!!!

Hattiesburg Great City!!!!!!!! 04-cheers

RebelKev, actually I meant I-59. Hattiesburg city limits used to run to I-59. Since the white-flight, they have extended it 2-3 miles west of I-59. The point I was trying to make to this idiot is that, yes, on paper Hattiesburg is mostly white but almost all of the whites are west of I-59 out of "The Hood" which is around USM and the east part of Hattiesburg.

Ahh, got'cha. They're trying to do the same thing in Jackson. Jackson is a hellhole and they're trying to annex people that moved because they DIDN'T want to be in Jackson for their money and offer them not a damn thing.
