2. UAB - winnable game, move the old bball rivalry to football. we can call it the "BoT Bowl"
1. USM - an hour away so crowds will be huge, good measuring stick

We wont see Southern Miss again unless we are in a Bowl. Which could very well happen...But Yes Southern Miss is #1 on my list. That game was heart break!

When it comes to the SBC schedule, it's purely selfish and simple. I'd just love to visit!

1. La Neck (Because we must beat Neck)
2. Southern Miss (We owe them after 3 close losses)
3. Arkansas (I dont rate this #1, because I dont value money games as important)
4. Louisville (We lost 2 close games, and in reality probably would have won them if they came last year instead of 2 years ago)
5. Georgia Southern (Because of one game in the 80's)

Now...if Memphis does come off our schedule, they automatically hit #1 on this list, but since we currently are playing them, they dont make the list.

I know Arkansas sees LSU as it's main rival. But who's A-State's main rival? And is there a chance down the line that Arkansas and A-State will play every year, and begin a rivalry? Why aren'y y'all rivals already?

Arkansas doesnt have a rival. Technically, I guess their fanbase really has the most animosity towards LSU, but even the SEC looks to be moving that game away from its traditional Thanksgiving Weekend spot, and giving that to LSU and A&M. If you asked their fanbase, they would claim several different schools, including Texas, whom they never play.

We consider our biggest rival to be Memphis right now.

As for why Arkansas and ASU dont play? Arkansas likes to consider itself the only division I school in the state of Arkansas. They know full well that they control the media for this state, and with no professional teams in town, they have little competition. Arkansas has not played an instate school in the regular season in any sport since the 1950's. In the late 80's Arkansas and ASU got paired against each other in the Mens NIT, and the game went to triple overtime before Arkansas won.

Arkansas believes itself above other in state compteition, and in truth there are many razorback fans who are so brainwashed that they believe ASU is a D2 school. Between ASU, UALR, and UCA, the 3 of us get continually shafted in the Little Rock market for no real reason. Last year, even as ASU was in the middle of its best football season ever, we were relegated to the "other instate schools" sections of newspapers and sportscasts, listed with all the Division 2 schools in Arkansas.

With complete media control, Arkansas has no reason to play an instate school. Very little to gain. I firmly believe we will eventually play at some point, but it wont be anytime soon.

To be honest, many ASU fans have gotten over the issue, and have moved on.

South Alabama - Too much history going back to the Club Football days and basketball beyond that.

UAB- So close it would be a shame not to play them.

ODU- Plenty of animosity after just 2 games.

UCF- Another old basketball rivalry that needs to move to football

Charlotte- Have a series set for 2014-15

Georgia Tech- 6 blocks apart. Used to be the same school. Our music students used to march in their band. Our coach was their coach. Joe Hamilton is our RB coach. How many are double degreed from both schools. Has to happen.

Georgia Southern- They will move up one day and then this needs to happen.

No, the SEC sees LSU as Arkansas' main rival. Historically, their main rival was Texas. With Missouri now in the SEC, I anticipate that that game will become a major rivalry.

1. UNT-Old rival even though they hold big advantage in wins
2. APP State-We have lost one in a close game at their place
3. Troy-Was starting to get like a rivalry in the Southland
4. UTSA-We will always hate these guys and they do not want to play us after this year. We will have to take them behind the woodshed this year.
5. Baylor-We had them on the ropes two times but did not see a win yet against the Bears

1. Vanderbilt - series starting back up in a few years. Can't wait for the Raiders to beat the Dores once again
2. Kentucky - lost in nail biter few years ago, by ONE POINT. I'd love to get the Cats at home maybe even at LP Field
3. Memphis - every year it's interesting. Still hard to get over our losses. Important series, especially with Memphis in Big East
4. UAB - fairly close and could be a good rivalry to start back up
5. Tennessee - the orange would be fun to beat

I agree with 561s post above, but I would add Purdue in there as well. We had them beat last year and gave it away. Woul dlove to have 1 more shot at them.

Agreed, that was a tough game to swallow. I bet if we played them again this year we'd have a really good chance to beat them. We almost won against them last year... and we all know what happened last year.

You will play TROY soon enough!!!

1. Ga State - Would love to take the cats to the wood shed before they field a decent team.

2. Navy - We lost 13-7 in 2010 and it was only our 2nd game running the option since it's return. If we played that game at the end of 2011, I would have LOVED our chances.

3. Texas State - Revenge for our 2005 meltdown

4. GT - who is already on our schedule (2014?), but I'm really pumped because I like our chances. I think we could see an "apprentice surpassing the master" when we play in a few years. If we lose, I'd want a rematch. :)

5. MTSU/Troy/Marshall/USF/UCF - all the schools we used to play when they were FCS. I'd love to move up and get them on the schedule again.
