You do seem to intuitively understand that it is really about ownership as you dispute private ownership of, well, pretty much anything, right, when you use scare quotes concerning ownership of one's earnings. And, that is really the difference between the liberal mindset and, well, those that believe in "freedom"*.

The comments from liberals in this thread make me wonder if they ever learned world history. Government is NOT responsible for all human achievement lol!

My grandmother grew up on a homestead. Her family completely provided for itself. They grew their own food and raise their own animals. They traded with their neighbors. Government didn't provide these things for them. They settled wild land and made a home for themselves. The roads were dirt paths that small communities of entrepreneurs and neighbors built!

Sure many years later the U.S. government built the interstate system, but its not as if society didn't exist before the government undertaking.

Most of human achievement has been based upon the efforts of individuals. Is it built on the back of other individual achievements, sure it is, but it's not as if the government is some "god" that made it all happen.
