Where does Syracuse recruit primarily?
Pitt's recruiting grounds are pretty much PA, OH, and NJ for the majority of recruiting. Pitt appears to be working hard to open up MD and VA for recruiting too - especially MD. To my knowledge, NY is not much of a focus for Pitt. FL is always one that is periodically mined if possible, but it is not a primary focus that I can see at this time. Of course, I'd love to see Pitt in FL more but I'm not sure if the current staff thinks this way or if they'll cut back FL recruiting even further.
Where does Syracuse focus for recruiting? Are we in the same areas or does Syracuse focus on different locations?

New York, Georgia, Florida, and Pennsylvania are the top 4 under Marrone. We're trying to ease our way back into Jersey. In last years class we had 2 from CA, 2 from FL, 3 from GA, 1 from MD, 2 from MI, 1 from NJ, 8 from NY, 1 from OH, and 2 from PA.

In 2012, the breakdown was PA (8), OH (5), NY (1), MD (1), TN (1), WI (1), WA (1).
So far for 2013, the breakdown is PA (7), OH (3), NJ (1) and VA (1).
I think this years class will be more typical of what the new staff will target moving forward. Our big 3 recruiting areas may drop to a big 2 (PA and OH). I believe Pitt will try to go heavy into MD and VA as time unfolds. Otherwise, other states will be sporadic.

With FSU and Miami on the schedule, Pitt will probably look for a few Florida kids, too.
