NCAA 13 XBOX thread (full of users) week 2
Herd's stampeding defense traps Miner's offense. - El Paso Times
UTEP (1-1) will have to regroup after Marshall's Defense (2-0) punished the UTEP Offense all day. "They (Marshall) should be ranked, did you see that hit, Oklahoma's D has nothing on Marshall's." - HC Mike Price. Miner's return home to play rival NMSU next week. Final score 17-6.

Did I knock your QB out? That game single handedly set back offenses about a century.

"A Knights' Conquest: Raiding the Horseshoe" - Orlando Sentinel
Quote:Entering today's game, the Knights had both defense and offense working in their favor, evidenced by their drubbing of Akron. Could they keep up with THE OSU? Could they keep up with Big Ten talent? The answer is on the scoreboard: 31-16, UCF wins huge.
Everything was working right in the first half, with Blake Bortles leading off with a lead-changing 4 yard touchdown run early in the 2nd quarter. 7-3 Knights. And then it happened. UCF's trademark defense stops Ohio State every time after in the first half, and Ohio State even attempted a fake punt pass the first drive after UCF's score.
Latavius Murray scores off a 24-yard chunk run after the turnover, followed up with an interception by sophomore Brandon Alexander to take the Buckeyes to a 21-3 clinic. But the fireworks didn't stop there, when a 2nd timeout was called to give Blake Bortles the chance to lead a stellar drive leading up to a 30-yard inside slant route to tight end Breshad Perriman.
HALFTIME: UCF 28-3 OHIO STATE
The Buckeyes started very strong on defense, proving why Big Ten talent is known for its stamina, stuffing UCF's opening drive to begin the 2nd half. A couple big tosses down the left and center sizes up UCF for a letdown in the red zone it seemed, courtesy of Braxton Miller (QB, OSU). And a pair of crossing routes gives Ohio State an early TD, 28-10.
Bortles had a rough time most of the 3rd quarter finding open receivers, and took a sack on the 2nd drive out of the locker room. And the defense continued to appear anemic, allowing rush after rush to slip past them. the 3rd quarter ended with Braxton Miller passing for 100 yards up to that point.
4th quarter defenses decide games more often than not, and UCF showed signs of fatigue as they allow the go-ahead rush, but OSU failed a 2-point conversion (28-16 UCF, 5:55 to go). But remember Liberty Bowl MVP Latavius Murray? Inhibited much of the half, he comes out and pounds the rock the final minutes to try to run the clock out on the Buckeyes. But he got more than he intended when his legs pumped out a huge 3rd down conversion with a few minutes left. Moffit jams a 41-yard field goal to put immediate pressure on OSU to close the gap.
Less than 2 minutes puts the Knights on the clock to stiffle a miraculous comeback by OSU. And the UCF defense did NOT disappoint, with a game-clinching interception by inside linebacker Terrance Plummer. The Knights leave the Horseshoe with a stunning victory, 31-16!

I lost my QB on the option play on the drive before the first pick six. But I did knock out your half back right before the half that lead to the fumble. The starting QB for UTEP is known for being injury prone, so it wasn't a supprise.

RE: NCAA 13 XBOX thread (full of users) week 3
"3-0! Knights Take Their Talents to South Beach" - Knight News
Quote:A week after taking down Ohio State at the Horseshoe, our Knights take a road trip to Miami, a short 4-hour trek down I-95. The FIU Golden Panthers (1-2) took UCF (3-0) to class last year, defeating the Knights on the turf of Alfonso Field 10-17. Due to a scheduling conflict because of Louisiana Tech and FIU joining earlier than anticipated, this match-up was moved from Bright House Networks Stadium to FIU Stadium, and became an all-too-important conference game.
The defense has been consistently performing par for the course as FIU struggled early on, and only when the offense opened up later on did FIU begin to get scoring opportunities. But when there is less than 50 seconds left, down 2 scores, not much chance for a miracle. UCF handled FIU well under the added pressure.
Latavius Murray was the game's MVP, running for just under 150 yards and scoring the early TD in the first quarter. Shaun Moffit also got more face time this game, scoring a couple field goals and making every point-after attempt, contributing 10 points. QB Blake Bortles and back-up Nico Ranieri scores 2 TDs and 1 TD, respectively, with Ranieri's TD being his only pass of the game to the fastest athlete in Florida, WR Quincy McDuffie.
UCF will play their first home game against SEC opponent Missouri in two weeks. UCF will attempt to go undefeated out-of-conference against 4 FBS opponents for the first time in school history.
