Definitely doesn't excite me, but I could live with it for a while.

It's better than nothing for football, but the basketball would be sucky outside of the few basketball powers.

what killed the big east i believe was not espn. what killed the big east was whoever put forward the idea of inviting depaul and marquette to the big east in addition to louisville, cincinnati, and south florida. that created an unneeded, unnecessary 8-8 basketball/football split. that death was accelerated when additional football teams were not added when the GOOJ card expired and teams weren't added until it was too late.

once syracuse and pitt bolted, the big east would have been better off dissolving the football conference. every single move they have made for the football side has reeked of desperation to ridiculous by bringing in boise and san diego state.

since football is where the obvious money is, i want to be in a football first conference because i know basketball will be fine wherever we land. that means big 12. rather take my lumps now like west virginia is getting now and get better later with the added benefit of being able to keep my coach.
