Olympic qualifying tournament
Two former Miami basketball stars are playing in the Olympic qualifying tournament this week. Michael Bramos plays for Greece. I can't remember if his parents or his grandparents moved here from Greece. Bramos played 21 minutes and had 6 rebounds and 3 points in Greece's opening romp over Jordan.

Nathan Peavy plays for Peurto Rico, who I think is one of the favorites to qualify. They haven't played yet. Nathan's Mom was an Oympic swimmer for Puerto Rico, and is currently an instructor at Sinclair in Dayton.

Slightly off topic but UT's Natalia Gaitan has already qualified and will compete for Columbia in soccer in London.

Peavy';s PR team also hammered Jordan, as Nathan played 20 minutes and scored 11 points. Tonight Greece and PR matchup so Peavy vs Bramos.

KSU's (and Upper Sandusky's) Nate Reinking will be playing for Great Britain's team in the Olympics. He's been playing pro ball there for a long time. (He graduated from KSU in 1996.)

RE: Olympic qualifying tournament
Puerto Rico lost to Lithuania and was eliminated. Also lost to Greece which was a very close game for 3/4 and then blown open. Horrible coaching did then in, but even against Lithuania they had their best player (JJ Barea ) with the ball and he threw it away trying to dump it inside when he should have shot. Next time down he fed it to Peavy when he should gave shot and Peavy traveled.
