Obviously, just joking.........doesn't always carry over to type written words.
I keep hearing about a sarcasm font, but so far no dice.

AIDS is the leading killer of black women 20-35, you know that? It is a direct result of the dipshlt Liberals would want to emphasize with the hoodrich, 50 Cent & 8 mile lifestyle instead of actually helping ANY problem. Empathy does NOT equal a resolution genious.
Some problems develop into disasters when ignored for so long, and disasters require serious action... Like face tattoos.

I get that AIDS is a problem. I get that our culture encourages promiscuity. I have no idea how to fix any of that. I also don't have to have one to know face tattoos isn't a good one.

RE: War on Drugs leading to more HIV/AIDS
Guys, handing out clean needles to addicts isn't going to increase drug use. It just keeps drug addicts from using dirty needles and saves the government from additional health charges. It also keeps the disease from spreading to those that may not be drug addicts (e.g., people who may have sex with those that use drugs, children born to those addicts, etc.). Who is going to take a clean needle and say "Hey! Lets put some heroin in it"? No one that isn't already going to use drugs anyway. Needle giveaways also provide a point of collection for addicts to receive information about rehab and health options. Needle giveaways are a no brainer - they're really cost effective and save the government money.

Just so we're clear, our government should use my tax money to make illegal activity easier and safer?

Thank you for proving my point exactly concerning the short-sighted and idiotic nature of many
I AM NOT SAYING IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, I AM SAYING IT IS FISCALLY ADVANTAGEOUS TO PAY FOR SUCH THINGS NOW AS THEY ARE A CHEAP WAY TO PREVENT MANY OF THE HIGH COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THINGS THAT *ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY*
List the things you think are my responsibility. Please.
In this instance, prisons and the costs associated with keeping infectious diseases at bay. No, I'm not talking about HIV itself, but instead the creation and spread of antibiotic resistant bacterium. Though, if you knew a little more about viral pathology you'd realize it's really not a smart idea to not try and limit the number of carriers of lethal immuno viruses, because viruses don't seem to care whether or not paying for needles is your 'responsibility'.
Your absurd rigidity to the "NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY, WON'T PAY FOR IT, IT'S STEALING" ideology is my main problem with many libertarians. I'm not saying it's your responsibility, I'm saying it's a pragmatic and cost-effective solution to a potentially massive problem.
I don't mind paying for prisons.
If they get an infectious disease let them die. Not my problem.
My rigidity is a byproduct of you being so generous with my money.
(Dripping sarcasm) You are obviously walking in the path of Jesus (end sarcasm). Where do you go to church? What about the sex partners of those who are addicted? What about the children born to HIV infected women?
Needle exchanges save the government money. Even if you think that addicts deserve to die, what about their kids, who the state will have to pay to care for?
It sounds like the "Christian"/Reagan response to HIV/AIDS.....just let the disease spread because they apparently would rather let those targeted by the disease to die, rather than properly fund HIV mitigation efforts, condom promotion, and appropriate safe sex education that actually is RELEVANT for the targeted communities. And millions died as a result. Some Reaganites and Christians celebrated that result, as they were mostly Gay people and Drug addicts, but the disease then spread everywhere else, where it has killed more than a million Americans and over 60 million worldwide.

The government should use 5cent needles to reduce the ultimate cost to the taxpayers and prevent the impacts of the disease from spreading. If I give you a needle, are you going to immediately go find some heroin to put in it? No. The addicts are already using the drugs. The government cannot stop it completely (and I'm in favor of strong criminalization of hard drugs), but it CAN mitigate the effects on the TAXPAYERS and society.

How about this as a AIDS/promiscuity solution..Have the Republicans/Christians stop trying to make Gay monogamy illegal?

I've got no beef with gay marriage. Further, I think it's a political loser for Republicans and wish they'd get off of it.
Oh, and the argument that it will destroy the institution of marriage is laughable. We straight people have ****** it up nicely without the help.
Not that I think that'll put much of dent in promiscuity, generally.

An addict generally exchanges needles because they get dull. They don't often think to themselves, "I'm killing myself but I don't want to get a disease".

Okay, then. But why stop there?
Let's put face tattoos on AIDS carriers, hepatitis, TB, chicken pox, head lice...
Your idea is absurd on its face (pun unintended). Know what else would "work"? Blowing up the planet. Let's try that next.

Absurd; yet effective, cheap, safe, "humane" if you move it to the back of their necks, and almost necessary... But I'm a white male with minimal risks so who cares, right?

The only thing that tattooing HIV carriers would accomplish would be to ensure that virtually noone gets tested. It would actually cause the disease to spread FASTER.
