What the Big East commish should be saying
Here is data from past five years that the Big East office should be repeating every minute. This is data from conferences 2013 membership
Using BCS poll
Top 5 finishes
1.SEC 9, 2. Big twelve 6, 3.Pac 5, 4. BigTen 2, 5.ACC and Big East 1

Top 10 finishes
1. SEC 13, 2. Big Twelve 12, 3. Big Ten 9, 4. PAC 8, 5. Big East 5, 6. ACC 2, 7. MWC 1

Top 25 finishes
1. SEC 27, 2. Big Twelve 24, 3. BigTen 21, 4. PAC 16 and ACC 16, 6. Big East 12
7. MWC 3 and BYU 3 , CUSA and MAC 1

BCS bowl results
1. SEC 8-3
2. Big Twelve 7-5
3. PAC 5-3
4. Big Ten 4-6
5. Big East 1-3
6. ACC 1-5
7. MWC 0-1

The league should be using these numbers over and over in any discussions about its standings.

Only one problem, they are going back 10 years.

they can go back 10 years but reality in anything is the previous five years holds more weight than the previous 10 for obvious reasons...sports, like business is what have you done for me lately. Beside, we have no reason to present 10 years ago because the Big East was vastly different then....going back five years however is at least apples to apples vs today.

They will go back to whatever point makes the best case for them and worst case for us. They will twist the data to hurt us, count on it.

Bearcat, I agree, but the big 5 played it how they played it. They decided the ACC stays and we are out. We can say what we wish, it is what it is.

And what it is, is a hypocritical raping. The truth is the truth, and regardless of whether it will ever make a difference, the Big East should make these facts known at every opportunity from now on. Thanks to CubanBull for reminding us.

True. But that shouldn't stop the BE from over and over repeating it's message. Look at politics as a prime example. You pick your message and you repeat it ad nauseum.

Oh, I agree 100%. You keep hammering the message so you improve your bargaining position. What we don't know is what is being said privately and I would prefer the battle not be waged in public because that can backfire on you.

Im not sure this praticular commissioner should even open his mouth in public. I would however like to see a professional spokesman for the Big East putting out this information.

Even if you look at a 10 year period the Big East can defend itself.
Top five BCS teams
1. SEC 14
2. PAC 12
3. Big Twelve 10
4. Big Ten 10
5. ACC 2
6. Big East 1

Top ten BCS teams
1. SEC 23
2. Big Twelve 22
3. Big Ten 18
4. PAC 17
5. Big East 9
6. ACC 8
7. Notre Dame 2
8. MWC 1

Top 25 BCS teams
1. SEC 48
2. Big Ten 43
3. Big Twelve 41
4. ACC 33
5. PAC 31
6. Big East 19
7. BYU 4
8. MAC 3
9. Notre Dame 2
10. CUSA 1

BCS Bowl record
1. SEC 13-4
2. Big Twelve 11-9
3. PAC 10-5
4. Big Ten 8-11
5. Big East 3-3
6. ACC 2-12
7. MWC 0-1
8. Notre Dame 0-2

The Big East commish or media person should be putting out the message that the new Big East compares well in top 5, top 10 and BCS bowl records which shows that the league has teams with a good track record to be considered for those top bowls and playoffs by their on the field performance. It certaintly has as much right as the ACC by actual performance.

ACC is the low man on the totem pole now. Now they will have to hear the brunt of the media's complaints about undeserving champions.

Especially since their last champion got (70 dropped on them by the BIG EAST Co-Champ)...lol

That's why hopefully we will have a good commish by the time negotiations start on revenue breakdown and access to thse six bowls. Thats the critical time for the Big East.
