Exclamation No new news
I'm still ecstatic to be a part of the Big East. I just wish we were playing in the league this season rather than next. F the rest! The criticism to a particular league affiliation is not new to fans at UH. It business as usual on Cullen BLVD. the difference now is that UH is going to be in the best basketball league in the country and we have a great opportunity to carry the banner in football. I really couldnt have hoped for more. Hindsight is 20/20 and I am happy we are headed to the Big East. Thank god for shining down on Houston's University! Seriously the rest is just bull****. 02-13-banana

Sir I applaud you for this post. It's part of being a fan to take the good and the bad. We just happen to have experienced too much of the bad recently.

Welcome to the boards and may we all enjoy the coming seasons and new rivalries. 04-cheers +2 for being up beat. 04-rock

Yup. Enough with the bad news already. Hopefully Boise will sew up its olympic sports issues this week and it will be game on with a 14 team nationwide Big East.

It is hard to believe that Boise along with the WAC and Great West can't get something worked out (or have they but can't say anything yet)?05-nono

As an SMU fan, my thoughts are pretty much the same - I'm just happy to be here. We're locked in as full members. But it would mean so much more if we added Boise & SDSU (along with Fresno, BYU, etc.). One of our appeals as a conference is that we're national. It makes us unique. If we don't get Boise & SDSU, we're no longer national. I don't want to see SMU as the most western school in the conference.

One thing about Big East is that it's composed of scrappy teams that refuse to be told they're not good enough. Let's see how this conference fares OOC and in bowls. Let's play this game out on the field.

RE: No new news
All my life I always prefer to cheer for the underdog. I can't stand people that think once certain way is set, it is set forever. There is nothing in this world can't be changed. New Big East is like a start up company with lots of potential. If I have a choice to work for a traditional company with limited upward mobility vs. a startup with a lot of potential, I would choose startup 90% of the time. Some of my fellow UCONN fans might not want to be here, but I am with the group that do hope this conference will be successful. I do agree with some others BE has to stay national, it is the only way to differentiate from others.
