Troy @UAB will be the 11:00 (morning) game. With the away side in the sun. Legion Field will hold two 1aa games that weekend too.

Have fun, although, you guys might be able to move with the shadow of the scoreboard.

I'll just go on ahead and include a "there is room on the other side of the stadium with the 7 UAB fans," because somewhere along the lines you guys will try and talk attendance smack.

Miles vs. UNA will be Sunday night
Tuskegee and AL A&M will be Saturday night at 6.

p.s. spread it to GTT if you'd like.

That statement right there opened yourself up to the smack...Then 3 posts later you added fuel to the fire.......blame the city... Oh and P.S. Troy is in charge of bringing handheld cameras for the goal lines this time.

If you really think that my first post was smack you really gotta get out more son. ( unintended as a personal attack don't take it as one)

That post 3 posts later was because you guys were already attacking. Joking about a call you guys think was questionable and not attacking anything Troy state related is now smack talk. Got it...

I didn't actually start talking smack about Troy until after you guys had said quite a bit of crap about my school. The first thing any person would even think is remotely smack talk was post 14 when I mentioned Scrushy building your OCS for you. In reply to all your crap about Legion Field and the crap we take from our own BOT

Its like this man....its like Alabama and Auburn they hate each other, everything about each other......No different than how TROY and UAB fans feel. It is what it is. TROY and UAB are the #3 and #4 teams in the state. (Troys always #3) We are rivals plane and simple.

where do I start?

should I laugh at your OMG black people comment or explain to you that A&M fans usually tailgate the Magic City Classic for like 3 days before and probably will for this one too.

Their fans probably will show up early and enter our game too. It'll be the only FBS game going on in the state that day. UA and AU are at away/ neutral site games that night, which might have something to do with the time slot.

We're actually discussing on Blazertalk how this exactly is going to work raising some of the same questions. We are sold season tailgate spots and are kinda hoping that our tailgating spots are different than theirs. especially how they'd hate to show up and not have the tailgate spot that they've prepaid for.

This is an old post but no it's not an OMG black people like your assuming. Because first of all both of my parents graduated from Alabama A&M and are doing quite well for themselves I have been to the classic over seven times.

I'm black and I have been robbed, stamped, and witnessed gun shots at the classic. Regardless of what race out there if it was a trailer park full of Asians, low income housing in a metro area is usually not the most safe place to be.

right, but you gotta realize how that sounded.

Also we've never had an issue with anyone at our games. So we don't know what its like to deal with that. But we hear it all too often because it is the metro so We try to get ahead of the Race Card issue as much as we can. Because it isn't as much of an issue as people make it out to be.

You mean besides that they were both hand-picked by the Tuscaloosa Country Club?

If you're thinking it's UAB, I'd counter with the fact that Watson Brown has sucked pretty much everywhere he's ever coached, and the number of head coaching gigs Callaway has had before or since.

Our record with coaches UAB people picked (Dr. Hilyer) is pretty good.

McGee is the second such coach we've ever had.

What year did you hear these "gunshots" at the Classic. I have gone to everyone since 1987 and their has never been a any shootings at the MCC. This is how rumors get started.

What year were these gunshots at the Classic. I have been going since I was a kid, played in 4 and there has never been any shootings at the game. So what Classic where you at. This is how rumors get started. People take a positive event and try to attach BS to it. There has also been no problems at ANY college game at Legion Feild, not UAB, Miles, Bowl game, not one of em.

With all due respect, Birmingham has been after the Tuskegee/AAMU game since they renewed the rivalry in 2008. The last time the teams played in Birmingham the attendance was 57,000 and some change. These two teams played in Indianapolis in 2008the and 2009 and played before 50,000 on both occasions. With the amount of fans, and money the city will make off that game why wouldn't they make it the primetime event?

It goes back to 1996 or 97 when some Troy fans would troll the UAB message board (before rivals). It got worse after you beat missou and your coach came on birmingham radio and spent his time trashing UAB instead of promoting Troy. After that the good natured UAB to Troy smack turned ugly and playful rivalry turned to hate

This.

Having UAB play the day game is less of an insult than it is simply good business sense for the city. HBCU football is a social event that gets both in-town and out-of-town people spending dollars in Birmingham--and there's nothing wrong with that. I know this reality often ignored by some, but there are a sizable number of folks that enjoy the city and its nightlife--and don't even have a serious rooting interest in a Golden Tiger or Bulldog victory.

So go ahead Troy fans, laugh at UAB not being that kind of local draw. Or perhaps you shouldn't--because Troy isn't either.
