Memphis in at #9 of top 10 things to happen in the off-season.

Nice to see coach Fuente getting the love of national media. Hopefully by the time we hit the Big East we can compete with you guys!

I know I can't wait to visit each of your stadiums next year. Hopefully with Justin in charge we Tiger fans can come in & leave with our heads held high.

This is a perfect time to play in CUSA. Hopefully by the time we join the BE, we will have grasped the offense and defense. Our depth will be MUCH better. People can laugh at Memphis football now, but they won't be laughing long.

From everything I have heard, Coach Fuente "gets it."

Too bad he also said Todd "6-7" Graham was a better hire at ASU.

Memphis can only get better and I hope they do on the football side....Would be nice to see Louisville, Cincinnati & Memphis STRONG URBAN football schools together...Keep the good local kids home.

TCU fans think highly of Fuente. Tough to turn a program around quickly in football, so I suspect a few rough years, but the guy has the personality and experience to succeed.

Got a link, because it must be some other article. This article is not talking about coaching hires alone. Hell two of the entries are solely about NOT losing anyone from the coaching staff. Maybe you need to worry more about St. john's football program than keeping Memphis fans in their place.

What it DID say about Todd Graham, is that he did a good recruiting job so far and that he has weathered the storm in the media. Nothing about ranking his hire.

I think most Memphis fans realize this and are prepared. His personality has already won us over. The guy is good, and I am pumped that he is our coach. He has learned SO much from Patterson. I always pull for TCU, except when you were in CUSA.

Memphis has something in Fuente we have been missing for a number of years,hope.

The true Tiger fan knows it is a long climb and will certainly take time.

The great thing about this piece and why I posted is because any news positive about Tiger football was long ago. Hope is now part of our program.

We certainly are looking up... at the rest of the Big East.

Hopefully one day soon we'll be able to look down on the rest of the conference... like so many Louisville fans do.

I said it when he was hired:

Fuente was definitely the right hire for Memphis and will have the Tigers in bowl games in 3-4 years.

Coach Fuente seems like he's a hard hat and lunch pail kind of guy that also gets what it takes to build a program. Now that our former AD has the title "former" and we have an AD that seems like a guy that works hard I think we are on the right path now. Go Tigers!

The combination of Fuente and the ongoing facility improvements definitely has me as hopeful about the future of the program as I've felt since 2005.
