Quote: Ultimately the decision for the future of college football's postseason will be made by this BCS Presidential Oversight Committee.

Here is a quick run down of that committee:

Scott Cowen - President, Tulane University
Rev. John Jenkins - President, University of Notre Dame
Bernie Machen - President, University of Florida
Max Nikias - President, University of Southern California
Duane Nellis - President, University of Idaho
Harvey Perlman - Chancellor, University of Nebraska
John G. Peters - President, Northern Illinois University
Bill Powers - President, University of Texas
James Ramsey - President, University of Louisville
Gary Ransdell - President, Western Kentucky University
Charles W. Steger (chair) - President, Virginia Tech
John Welty - President, Fresno State

Each of the FBS conferences, and Notre Dame, will have a voice in the decision.

RE: Tuesday
They do try to work these things on consensus instead of one group out voting another. Some groups obviously have more power than others and that's recognized, but you'll end up with everyone agreeing to things in the end.

I wonder how Idaho wants to try to stick it to Kustra while they drive around drunk and act semi-civilized? Maybe sticking it to them now is voting for the MWC to get the waiver.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even vote - they have been delaying this since the end of the year, and I think they want the MWC to lose boise so they don't even really have to make a decision.

I think they dont have to. They would use the same argument they are using now on the Big East. The Mountain West isnt the same conference that scored all those points. TCU--gone. Utah--gone. Only Boise remains....and like you said, they may be gone too.

Don't forget ole Welty is there and can throw a wrench into the BCS playoff by using his veto vote as the golden ticket. He could demand the MWC get the BCS waiver needed to get included into the BCS money along with other Big 4 leagues. If he could do that the MWC could jump over the nBE as a conference and that might entice BSU and SDSU to stay in the MWC.

Even with the waiver, the MWC won't jump anyone. Their 1mil Tv deal will still be 1mil.

Yes, but most fans are fans of a school not a conference and what matters most going forward is can your team get better, and can they win a lot of games where they are at.

Quite a few schools that have 'moved up' in realignment have just made winning a lot harder. It remains to be seen if that will settle well with the fans of those schools going forward.

Winning and only winning is the ticket to the next level for the 'non-power programs', some of which are in the 'power conferences'.

Whatever the case... the Cougars are not coming any time soon barring a miraculous turn of events. It is a lose, lose. They need us, we need them. But neither side will give in for a very long time by the look of it.

No rep for Army or Navy either.

And BYU won't come until they can look at real TV numbers and/or get issues worked out with their TV deal that pleases them. They have no reason to rush right now.
