Texas Tech loves the LHN
So much they are thinking of canceling going to play at Texas State because the game could end in the LHN.

This shows that the love fest with Texas and the rest of the conference s not all it has been made to be.

Texas Tech and LHN

LOL, Texas State fans would be so mad. Even though they are going to get slaughtered, that game will likely be the biggest on campus event in their history.

Another school looking to get away from the U of Texas conference influence. Maybe the Big East should extend an invite to Texas Tech.04-cheers

Maybe they'd be willing to travel up to Philly and play Temple? I mean a road game is a road game right? Then Temple could jump into an open spot down the line for the Red Raiders. 02-13-banana

So the game will NOT be on LHN. So the question becomes will any Big 12 school other than Texas be happy to play on the Bevo network?

ESPN has so much invested in LHN that it will likely continue to grow into a bigger problem in the B12. If I am not mistaken, the payouts to Texas escalate under the terms of the deal, so ESPN will be looking for more content to try and increase cable subscriptions and that will spill over into conference content. All those schools that bailed are probably breathing a huge sigh of relief to be away from Bevo.

None.

What ESPN's $300 Million Longhorn Network deal TO the Big 12 was to ensure that unlike the Big Ten and now the Pac-12, which has/will have their own CONF TV Network where ALL teams share in the proceeds, is that their TV deal together (ESPN and UT) ensured that the Big 12 will NEVER have their own conf TV Network.

Texas and ESPN have another 19 years remaining on their TV Deal...and this was just the first fight of many more to come. (UT's mouthpiece on twittercrap noted that due to Texas Tech's vocal protest, the Longhorn Network will NOT be picking up the Texas Tech at Texas State Game).

Red Raider would commit suicide the day that Texas leaves them. And yes, that day will happen sooner rather than later. Then we can invite their carcass.

The Nevada game at Texas St. is also listed as being on "an ESPN platform".

If I'm ESPN, pull all telecast options for the Tech game and pick a different Texas St. game. Make it no TV. Texas St. can webcast it and Tech fans can pay Texas St. for the ability to watch it.

I did some writing about it this morning: http://mattsarzsports.blogspot.com/2012/...ppery.html

This has been my experience as well. A ton of people from my highschool went there (from El Paso), and quite honestly, most of those people sucked.

I enjoyed the Tech fans coming down to Houston, but it was clear that nothing in their experience prepared them for 12 hours of tailgating and a stadium that served beer. Hot Raider messes...

I wish I knew a SMU fan so I could say they suck but I don't know any. I guess it sucks to have Tech fans outnumber SMU fans in their own stadium.

I don't doubt that for a second considering the extreme humidity that night. Our former DC looked like someone poured water on him the entire game he was sweating so much.

RE: Texas Tech loves the LHN
Seriously, if i'm Temple and i'm hearing this i'm calling Texas Tech immediately. To Texas Tech a road game is a road game and they have a future opponent for any hole in a future line up. Temple needs to be aggressive and act to pull off a huge scheduling success. Going from being stuck with 11 games and less than normal revenue at a time when they need to make as much money as they can. If they can get a name like Texas Tech to come play them at home would be a huge win for the Owls even before the the game kicks off. Now throw in that Temple actually pulls the upset? Even better. It's literally a no lose situation. If Tech doesn't go for it your still stuck at 11 but if they do it's all gravy.
