VMF On its way down...
WVM Comming Down

Im sad to see this structure go, a lot of Herd greats played there. But the progress of what is going to be put there will be the best thing for Marshall. All I can say is Im greatful that we have an AD that has a vision for our university.

I never watched any Herd games there so I dont have the same attachment that a lot of Herd fans have, so I am very excited to see it go. It is an eyesore inside and out and with what is happening around here it will really help clean up a section of Huntington a little.

I didn't see that many there either. I watched Greg White play there. But most of me watching the Herd has been in the CAM. I really think that it should have been brought down 20 years ago. It would have saved the city thousands of dollars.

All the old people who come into Stadium Bookstore are pissed about this.

You should ask them if they were willing to pony up 6.9 million dollars to fix it up right. That would have included a new roof, extacting the asbestos, putting a new floor down, paying for the bio hazzard clean up of the asbestos and floor. The floor had traces of mercury in it.

I know older people grew up with the VMF. But its people that complain about things like this, the reason things in Huntington and WV take so long to get done or changed. Change can be hard sometimes but it is what moves things forward.

I agree with you 100%. I'm all for old things being replaced with new and valuable things. I was born and raised in Huntington and am currently a Finance student at Marshall. I have a vested interest in the university and the town becoming better.

Ive lived in WV most of my life, except the 11 years I lived in Lafayette, Louisiana. In most places in Louisiana they don't even ask people if they want to change something, its just done.
