If you look at history in past 5 years 18 out of the 20 slots would have gone to the four conferences you speak about. That's 90 % of the slots. Now if you look at NC in past 5 years that would be 100%

Thats kinda my point. The polls already have an inate bias toward the Big-4 teams---so its already pretty rare we get a chance---now they have added a new hurdle. Its unnecessay. Jumping teams without some preset rule ("all champions" or "one team per conference" or 'top 3 cahmps plus a wild card", etc) will do nothing to improve the game or the perception of the BCS. So whats the committee for? A committe will breed distrust and controvery. The NCAA committee is always controversial---and they include the champion from every singe conference as a starting point. Can you imagine the controversy surrounding a committee that selects just 4 teams? So why use that sytem? The only logical reason it would be so supported by the Big-4 would be to jump a non-Big-4 team on occaision. I just see it having no other purpose.

So nothing has changed except our chances go up to 10 % from zero

lol....correction--they would have increased 10% without a selection committee. With the selection committee--there may in fact be no difference. My feeling is we still have to finish #1 or #2 to be sure of getting in. I dont believe any committee would be stupid enough to mess with #1 or #2. Number 3 is likely even safe---but a non-Big4 number four is in danger.
