UCONN APR Press Release - 20 out of 24 Programs Scored 975 or Better
Since people are trying to target our basketball team again with NCAA's latest APR ban. Here is UCONN's official press release:

http://today.uconn.edu/blog/2012/06/ucon...apr-score/

Quote:The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team posted an outstanding Academic Progress Rate (APR) score of 978, out of a possible 1,000, for the 2010-11 academic year.

Quote:Twenty of the 24 athletic programs at the University of Connecticut achieved a score of 975 or better, out of a possible 1,000, in the multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR), while 16 of 24 had scores over 975 for the 2010-11 academic year. A total of three Husky teams had perfect 1,000 multi-year scores, while five had perfect single-year scores.

UCONN traditionally have outstanding APR scores across all of its athletic programs. This is pretty more the norm at UCONN with men's basketball team being the exception a few years ago.

Louisville has passed in football APR for two years in a row under Coach Strong. We will be back to full schollies after next year. Man, that bum Steve Kragthorpe not only lost fotball games but he also did not manage the teams APR. He is certainly a loser coach! 04-rock

You got us beat in basketball by a little bit, but most UCONN programs scored much better than Memphis across the board. 20 out of 24 scored 975 or better while only 8 for Memphis. 5 UCONN programs scored 1000 vs. only 1 for Memphis.

Well we haven't been banned from any major post-season tournaments due to our scores either.

C'mon SF, don't be like that. Well done Memphis.

UConn football, women's basketball, and baseball are all extremely clean programs. It remains to be seen if the MBB program can continue improving.

If you want to go there, well we haven't got any of our Final 4s removed in our history 04-cheers

Hey just responding to another subtle dig at our basketball program. Nothing harmful or personal.

My laptop was stolen last night so I can't research this final four removal you're talking about.

I didn't read that as a subtle dig, but then again I'm not very subtle.

And easy Memphis fan.

LOL.. seriously? 01-wingedeagle When your athletic teams get the APR scores UCONN got or when your basketball team accomplish half what UCONN has already accomplished, then you got the right to talk smack to us. Right now, you need to get way back in line and wait for your turn 04-cheers

As far as APR goes we're ahead of you in baseball, basketball, and we're only 31 points behind you in football after several coaching changes throughout the past 4 turbulent seasons. I think it's a safe assumption to make that these are the three most visible and important sports to the average college/school supporter. No one cares about diving, shot put, etc.

And you're totally right. As soon as Pastner gets suspended from coaching due to recruiting violations I will be here to give you a full rundown of all that junk you mentioned in your post.

(Disclamer: I just want to say to the other UCONN fans, that I've got nothing but respect for your great athletics program. The Huskies have been a beast in the Big East and the NCAA, and I hope that continues. This is becoming a pissing match between SF Husky and myself.)

Edit: 04-cheers
