the corner, that is. We have placed ourselves in a position where freshmen must step up. You really do not want to be in that spot. You need to be where anything you get from freshmen is gravy.

But we have to have at least one freshman make good this year.

I would think you'd need at least two to make a significant contribution this season. Definitely at point guard, and probably at the three position.

We definitely need one of them at the three, but we might limp along without him. But at the point we don't have any options.

I look for Stetson Billings to be the possible starter at the three position, but if Taggart's knee is completely well, and if he can work hard in the summer on his shot and quickness, he will certainly have a leg up because of his experience last season. A lot of possibilities.

From what BTH is saying, Isom may play at the 3.

I think Isom might be a good spot player because he supposedly shoots the three ball well, but we've had Curtis Jackson and Nick Cicic, who were reputed to be great shooters and they weren't, so I'll believe that when I see it. Billings is supposedly a really good defensive player, and we know Coach Shields requires you be a sound defensive player before you'll play much, and Isom needs to get stronger. But we'll see how it all plays out. I would assume pickup games will begin within the next couple of weeks.
