Greatest Wins in KSU History?
What have been the greatest wins in KSU athletics history?

Tonight, baseball sending number 1 Florida home has to be one of them.
Beating Pitt to advance to the Elite 8 in 2002 has to be another.

What else?

Anytime we beat Akron.

Today's game, Beating Oregon and the Elite 8 wins are all up there. For regular season win I like the 2008 win over St. Marys

Away from baseball: the day both the men's and women's basketball team won the conference tournament.

The womens team beating Texas A&M in the NCAA's was a while ago but was a fairly good win. The gymnastics team winning the regional last year and getting to compete with the top 12 teams in Cleveland. And oc course the mens golf team finishing in the to10 3 or 4 times.

Riding a bus home from the Gund after that day, smoking a cigar. All I could do is laugh the whole way to Kent.

That was a big win for our school, but still not as big as beating Pit 2 weeks later. My reasoning for that is that it is still talked about every year there is a mid-major late in the NCAA-T.

The gymnastics team's making making the national was special -- (1) it was the "host" team for the NCAAs in Cleveland and (2) it was so unexpected.

Hasn't the track team had a superstar or two over the years?

No disrespect meant to anyone who might take offense, but no women's team has accomplished anything near the feat equal to the current baseball team, the Elite 8 in hoops, or the golf team finishing T5 and 6th a few years ago.

I agree but they were still fairly good accomplishments. Probably in the top ten from a pure sports point of few. If your talking about gaining kent some good publicity the elite 8 and the current baseball team are 10x greater than anything else by far. I would say they even dwarf the golf team due to the popularity of the sports with the average sports fan.

RE: Greatest Wins in KSU History?
I agree that nothing even comes close to the Elite Elight run.

It's been wonderful watching the baseball team, but baseball ranks far below football and men's basketball in national attention.

In absolute sports achievements, I'd put 2012 baseball and 2012 golf next.

After that? Kilgore, 2011 gymastics, the other national top 10 golf teams, the double MAC tournament day.

We haven't talked about it, but 11 straight women's conference championships is pretty damn impressive. I wish they'd break through nationally.

Field hockey has been consistently good, but not nationally.

Anbody been here to know about achievements in men's volleyball, swimming or hockey, all gone now.

Where do folks think the Lambert & Co. bowl team ranks?
