This is sad . . one could argue that this NCAA mistake cheapens the value of the FCS NC championship game . . even the NCAA does not get the winner of the FCS NC game right let alone the vast majority of college football fans . .

Let's be honest: Outside of the Peace Garden State itself and maybe a few recently enlightened neighbors, most college football fans have no ability to distinguish between the University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University, much less any interest. It's nothing personal. It's really just none of their business.

But the same cannot be said of the NCAA, which exists specifically to keep track of these things, and who just delivered an inadvertent slap in the face to the defending FCS national champion, North Dakota State, by sending its championship banner to the wrong campus.

1 - It's the NCAA who got under the thumb of the BCS and can't even figure out (or dictate) an actual fair real championship for the FBS (aka: a playoff like every other sport has)
2 - It's North Dakota :aliens:
3 - At least there's a real playoff and an officially sanctioned NCAA Champion (see #1 above) Even if they don't know who it is. :secret:

This should prove to the North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana schools that the NCAA doesn't care about FCS, and push them to move to the WAC en masse, where they can collectively take over a conference and start to actively shape their own public perceptions.

The NCAA messes up stuff like this for us all the time.

We had 2 wrestlers in the NCAA tournament and on the official bracket their school was listed as UNI for the SECOND year in a row!

For our last home game after one of our players committed a penalty the Refs called us Northern Iowa. The crowd let him have it!

Really we have NIU on our helmets for 10 of the past 11 seasons why is this so hard?

The NCAA wouldn't be the ones sending or delivering that BCS banner so it might very well be hand delivered.
It's not an NCAA championship.

I don't think we have ever had any of our 6 sent to another school, have any of your schools had this issue?
