Being that our OCC is:
Chattanooga, Ball State, Miami, FSU
I assume our OCC losses would be FSU and Miami.
I hope not. Would set us back to lose both in-state games

USF won't lose to both FSU and Miami. I have them going 1-1 against them.

RE: Athlon Big East Football 2012 Predictions
UConn was 3-4 last year with no QB and no secondary. Both of those issues have been addressed, the team is better, but now they'll be 2-5?
Did Athlon do any research?

The reality is that the Big East has many teams with comparable talent and it all depends on a few plays in each game a team can easily o 5-2 or 2-5 in our league

Yeah...outside of maybe 1 team per year....Big East has been pretty hard to predict...as with just 7 conf games...only takes 1 or 2 breaks (either good or bad) to go from 5-2 to 3-4 or even 2-5.

I won't speak to the conference results but I can easily see Temple at 3-1 out of league. Three bad teams and Penn St essentially.

correct me if am wrong, but it seems that three out of the last 4 years UC is predicted to be about 4 or 5 in conference. Then we go out and win 2 outright big east championships 2 of those years and are co champs with wvu last year. We also start the season un ranked three out of the last 4 years and then we finish ranked in the top 25 2 of those years and top 10 one of those years. Yet again I think we are being greatly underestimated.

All true.
Ironically (or perhaps not since this seems to be the pattern) we had a lot of fairly favorable predictions in 2010, including a pre-season top-25 ranking, only to fall down several rungs.

We've All got to really Step it up This Year, Zero OCC losses or in the Case of USF, needs to be in the Game up till the End in the Big Florida games coming up this Year. We are in the First Impression Mode for the New Changes comong up. I'm Confident the League will do Great !

And really not so much from Pitt/Syracuse but from UConn, Louisville, Cincinnati, Rutgers and a split with Miami/FSU from USF would be nice.
Need Boise State to be Boise State...no real drop off from Houston and UCF to get back to it 2010 form.

You have nothing to fear from UCF. The only person of true importance that we lost was our shut down corner in Josh Robinson (drafted third round to the Minnesota Vikings). Aside from that we bring in more experience to a true pro-style quarterback (Blake Bortles), a Miami transfer running back who has lived up to VERY high expectations already in Storm Johnson. Add in Georgia Tech 3 year starting Oline transfer Phil Smith, the return of 2010 CUSA CCG MVP and 2010 Liberty Bowl MVP Latavius Murray, more experience from J.J. Worton, Josh Reese, Jeff Godfrey (now WR, with trick play options in the Wild Knight formation), Quincy McDuffy, et al... Our offense will be dynamite this year. Questions on defense, but O'Leary has always been a defense first coach. I'm not too worried about it. We still have Kemal Ishmael and A.J. Bouye in the backfield. Jonathan Davis, Ray Shipman, and a whole slew of intelligent LB's, DE's, and DT's. This will be the year to watch UCF for sure. We intend to make a splash this year.

I wonder what an all encompassing NBE prediction would look like.

Something is terribly wrong if the Bearcats lose 2 non-conference games this year.

RE: Athlon Big East Football 2012 Predictions
This ranking isn't worth the paper it printed on. It is garbage and the writer did no research. By end of 2012, we can bring this back and see how realistic it is. I suspect my neighbor's door could do a better job just by peeing on a piece of paper with random team names.
